Don't Forget

One of the finest, most expressive, most versatile amplifiers ever created.

The Fryette Pittbull Hundred/CLX 100W Masterbuilt Tube Guitar Amp Head features 3 discrete channels and 100 watts of all tube power. Each amplifier is hand built from individual component inspection right down to every last solder connection and then signed by Fryette's most experienced and meticulous amplifier Master Builder. Upon completion, tubes are carefully selected and matched; the amplifier head is then pre-tested and burned in for a minimum of 72 hours.

In the next test stage, all functions and features on the Pittbull Hundred/CLX amp head are tested, final tube selection and biasing takes place, and then channel voicing is evaluated and messaged to perfection. Before the Master Builder's signature goes on the amp, each CLX head is thoroughly personally play-tested by Steven Fryette to assure flawless performance.

With its fat, warm sound and touch-sensitive feel, the Fryette Pitbull CLX is a highly refined tone machine. The harmonically rich and dynamic personality of the EL34 based power plant perfectly complements the soft clip of the single integrated driver/phase inverter, producing an orchestral string response. The hallmark Fryette note articulation and chordal clarity are in abundance regardless of gain setting resulting in its well-deserved reputation for bringing out the individuality of every player who encounters it.

    The best Ive ever played

Comments about Fryette Pittbull Hundred/CLX 100W Masterbuilt Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is hands down the most versatile, well-built, and durable amp I've ever played. My friends with Bogners complain that the Ecstacy is too delicate and finicky, and the SLO-100 doesn't offer a wide enough variety of tones. They both sound good, but when you're on the road constantly with a cover band you need things to last and you need to pull off many different sounds. THIS IS NOT JUST A METAL AMP! I play country mainly, then rock, blues, R&B, etc. I cover all kinds of ground with it, and did I mention its durable? Case in point: mine blew a capacitor and a voltage regulator and STILL managed to get me through the gig! I mean, capacitor guts all over the circuit board...

Comments about Fryette Pittbull Hundred/CLX 100W Masterbuilt Tube Guitar Amp Head:

When I unpacked it a name plate fell off into the packing bag, and I thought this is not a good start. My first impression was I just wasted about 3 grand on this, but after giving it some time it was abvious it had potential with very clear and punchy deep gain. The problem is there is not enough of it, I have it pegged to max gain on the lead channel with all the swithches and boosts engaged for optimal gain and to me it still sounds more like aggressive ACDC. I wanted an ultra lead but they don't carry them anymore. Also I can't get the 5 band EQ to work, the volume drops way down and sounds like when you turn the volume up too high on a stereo to the point the speakers break up and give you that vey muffled fuzzy distorted sound, and the master volume knob was so loose it over rotated when I went to turn it down once. The fact that this is advertised as a "master built" amp down to the smallest detail made all these things seem even more significant. I mean, how can you trust the quality of it when it makes it through a so called master level hand build and testing with flaws, especially a major feature like the EQ not working. Maybe I just got a lemon, and if you want an excellent ACDC type gain sound that can be tweaked to be a little more aggressive then I have no doubt you would be very pleased with it, its just not enough for me.

Comments about Fryette Pittbull Hundred/CLX 100W Masterbuilt Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have a 2009 i bought used and despite that its not available here i had to comment because of what the last guy said this IS a death metal amp it is HEAVY its the same thing as an ultralead minus 1 preamp tube the 12at7 and has EL34s instead of KT88s.... i wanted an ultralead as well but i found this and i HAD to get it. This amp has 2 input jacks a high sensitivity and a low sensitivity... i dont play the low sensitivity jack enough to really tell any difference i just try it every now and then but i gotta say this amp is VERY sensitive changing pickups from passive to active or the other way around or an invader pickup to a JB it makes a huge difference in this amp when i tried it out on a guitar with blackouts it was more saturated gain and felt wetter and more compressed and with passive pickups it still sounds tight and agressive but it is much more dry and throaty/brutal you can get really brutal tones out of it with the EQ it can sludge and grind your cab or sound very tight and agressive both the lead channel and rhythm channel can be used for metal in normal or high gain setting.. i like to use all the gain i can. this is an amp you can do that with. and it sounds different with differnet cabs even the same cab i tried it out with a new marshall straight cab and it sounded like above and i plugged it into my vintage jcm800 cab with the old british t-75s i can get a real brutal GRIIIND out of it. gotta get fatbottom cabs too! having it modded just to get that extra squeeeze of juice out of it to make it more specifically for DEATH METAL. this is NOT an AC/DC amp its a RABID PITTBULL
