Harmonics swing from your strings like Tarzan.
The Boss MT-2 is Keeley Electronics' heaviest, most powerful, hard-hitting effect pedal. The many modifications make this beast a hi-fi monster. Every component changed or added is of the highest quality. Metal film resistors are used on the Boss MT-2 3-way switch pedal for a low noise floor: something absolutely required for a high gain pedal.
The Keeley modded Boss MT-2 has a lower noise level than the stock pedal. Metal film and poly capacitors are used in the coupling sections to provide the true midrange and high frequency transparency your guitar tone needs while increasing the bass response.
The final result is an effects pedal that provides more gain and volume while losing no note definition. You got the perfect pedal for a Marshall Stack or Triple Rectified punch. The Boss MT-2 pedal has been modified to have asymmetrical clipping, which gives you second-order harmonic distortion. In addition to lending a very musical sound, the Boss MT-2 effect pedal produces an octave-type effect at very high saturation levels.
- Mode switch
- Three modes of operation:
- Switch left: more presence, more power, true-sounding midrange and a tighter bass response.
- Switch right: natural tube sound
- Switch center: super-powerful output. This mode should be used with a 4X12 cabinet that can handle the power and ultra-low bass.

I've had this pedal for quite some time now and let me tell you it really delivers great quality distortion tones. Big difference from the original metal zone. It really lets you dial in different types of distortions from super saturated Mesa Boogie rectifier distortion tones to a Marshall jcm800 distortion tone. Plus a toggle switch to choose from saturated distortion to a more mellow over driven amp tube distortion and a hardcore tube distortion that you need a 4×12 cabinet so you won't blow your speaker. My favorite is the more mellow tube distortion which the toggle switch is position to the right because it gives me more of that Marshall jcm800 distortion crunch. Think more like 80s rock bands sound like that Scorpions, distortion Ozzy, Motley Crue, Ratt, Dokken, Def Leppard, Quite Riot, Dio, Iron Maiden, and so on. Great pedal with higher quality components that makes a big difference from the original. Highly recommend.

this pedal sounds so good and is capable of so many distortion types from boston/randy rhodes to Slayer. adjustable mid sweeps let u dial in any tone, and the mods really give this a tube feel as opposed to the "almost there" solid state distortion the non modded metal zone pedal offers. so, so good. i played the metal zone in high school and liked it but always felt it wasn't quite there as far as perfection goes. now it is
