Huge Krank sound in a compact half stack.

Now get the Rev Jr. Pro 20W amp head and Rev Jr. 1x12 speaker cabinet together in one rocking guitar half-stack.

The Rev Jr. Pro

The Krank Rev Jr. Pro is a small-yet-powerful 20W tube guitar amplifier head. Expanding on the original Rev Jr, the 2-channel Pro version is footswitchable and has the added features of treble and bass controls on the Kleen channel. The Krank Rev Jr. Pro amp's circuit is very similar to the 120W Rev + in design and offers you the same raging high-gain sounds at a lower wattage than its big brother delivers.

The Rev Jr 1x12" Cab

The Krank Rev Jr 1x12" extension cabinet was designed to work with the Krank Rev Jr. Standard or the Krank Rev Jr. Pro 2-channel 20 watt heads. This cabinet sounds great whether you are playing clean or getting down and dirty with the raging high gain tones that the Rev Jr. amps put out. This tough, closed-back cabinet can handle it all with its premium 12" speaker.

Rev Jr. Pro Head:
  • 3-band EQ
  • Parametric mid-sweep
  • Gain
  • Separate volumes for Krank and Kleen channel
  • "Boost" button for more drive

Comments about # Krank Rev Jr Pro Half Stack Blk/Blk:

First off this little amp is a monster, 20 watts is plenty loud to jam with some buddies not really loud enough for a performance unless your gonna mic the cabinet. The sound is fantastic. I've owned Mesa Dual Rec and Marshall JCM900 half stacks and this thing will hang with either and as far as gain goes surpass either. This unit shines at 1/4 to 1/2 volume as most tube amps do, the headroom above half volume IMO losses it on any amp I've tried but this has huge bottom end, nice note clarity, plenty of adjustment to hit all genres of music and more than ample knobs to tweak it to your liking. The kleen channel is decent not jc120 clean but that's not the amps design. The effects loop is ok, I've used it mainly for additional gain drive from the tube in the loop by jumping the in and out and boosting it up and you can actually use it sort of like a master volume that way too, keeping output low with decent drive. The cabinet is a nice match, I played through my Rectifier 4X12 and with the V30 I didn't care for the tone although the unit has plenty of power to drive it. For the money I've heard some negative things on Krank but it is an excellent value and a nice size that easily portable but with big sound. To sum it up if you want hi gain & 2 channels this is an excellent choice.

Comments about # Krank Rev Jr Pro Half Stack Blk/Blk:

Ok I have been looking for a new amp for a while. I really like dethklok and thats how I first heard of krank. Then I found out that dime used krank for damageplan. So I did all the research I could read as many reviews as I could find online. Everyone said krank was awesome so I figured I'd give em a try. And just like everyone esle's review all I can saw is WOW! A couple of the review said the "sweep" control is either your best friend or worst nightmare. It's true. You might think the price is a little high but it's worth every penny. Buy this amp you won't regret it.

Comments about # Krank Rev Jr Pro Half Stack Blk/Blk:

I give it an 7 overall because it is a pretty sweet amp, but a little difficult to dial in, and I have had to exchange it because of a defect.

Also, if you want to get a proper chugging metal tone, you'll need to push it with an OD. At least I did. I was not sold on it until I plugged into a green rhino and set up an EQ in the loop, now it will crush.
Features are great on the pro version. I use the footswitch a good deal and I also use a noisegate and a 10 band EQ in the fx loop. This is where the bad news starts.

After getting the amp all dialed in a could not figure out where this annoying hum/buzz was coming from. Turns out it was in the amps fx loop (it made the noise with nothing connected, but only when the fx loop was active). So I am exchanging it for another because I really enjoyed the tones I was getting out of this amp.

Not an easy amp to get dialed in though.....the presence control on the back is the secret. Keep it below 9:00 or your ears will bleed.
The quality is not that great, I would say maybe average. Comparing the circuit board to my blackstar, this thing does not look as tidy. And I'm not real happy that I had to exchange it and wait on another one. Thumbs up to musiciansfriend customer service though, they have been very helpful, unlike Krank, who has been unresponsive. ( I tried contacting Krank first to see if there was something I could do to fix it, but never to this day received a respsonse.)
Lots of features, many tones to be dialed in, good speaker, LOUD, all for a fair price IMO.
