I'm in a band that practices and gigs pretty frequently, after having this pedal for about 4 months it gave out. I bought another and after about a month that one gave out also. I took it to a local repair guy and had him re-solder ALL of the connections because as he put it "blind monkeys" put my pedals together. NOW they work just fine but get two, have them both reworked because you're basically taking a risk just having one that could give out at any given moment, Marshall REALLY set the bar low on quality with this footswitch.
In 12 years, I have gone through 2 duals and 1 single. This footswitch, although when working is very good, is just not up to the Marshall standards. You're one stomp away from disaster at any moment. I just don't think they put their best in this switch. But when you gotta have it, you gotta get it. I'm gonna get 2 and keep 1 for backup.
I have two of these, both from the mid 90s, and the first one finally gave out after 12 years. All it needs is a new cable and it'll be back in use. this switch works with other amps too, but the buttons might be switched so Reverb actually changes Channel and vice versa.
I've owned this pedal for less than 3 months and the foot switch itself is already broken. After examining the interior, I found inadquate amounts of solder on the connections and cheap parts. Like I said: a cheap ribbon on an expensive gift. Marshall needs to remember names like MESA and SOLDANO.
This pedal is great when you start out. The only issue is that after repeated use, the wiring will eventually separate from the metal connector inside of the box. In order to fix this you have to dismantle the pedal and sauder the wire back on the receiver. It is essential if you play consistent gigs to have 2 of these pedals. Have one for a backup and one for your standard because I promise you eventually you'll have to use your backup.
The title really says it all. The footswitch worked fine and did it's job for only a year. As soon as I sell the amp, the switch starts screwing up (not two weeks after the sale). I'm pretty ticked off. Marshall should do better than this.
They should make it a little more because you really get what you pay for.
