(Open Box) A budget-friendly delay with a rechargeable, lithium ion cell and an extra small foot print.

Never judge a book by her cover. This sweet, demure sister hides, within her tiny frame, a massive delay (800m/s).

Seven years in conception and finally realized in 2011, Violet' siblings: the Seven Sisters, are a revolutionary new concept in the realm of guitar effects pedals. The world' first rechargeable guitar pedals “ the Sisters feature a Lithium Ion cell (like that found in your cell phone or digital camera) and internal charging circuitry.

Simply connect Violet to a regular guitar pedal power supply, charge her for four hours and Voila! 24 hours of actual use!

Two simple dials - Delay controls: Delay time. Repeat controls: the number of repeats - from a handful through to complete self oscillation. An internal trim control allows adjustment of the wet/dry mix.

The tiny sisters have the Worlds smallest pedal board foot print “ simply meaning they take up less space on a guitarists pedal board than any other available battery powered pedal.

Finally, the Sisters offer professional level features at an entry level price “ putting all the goodies within the reach of any players budget.

  • Massive delay time of 800m/s
  • Simplified control layout
  • Powered by rechargeable lithium ion cell battery
  • Pedal board-friendly size

Comments about Red Witch Violet Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I purchased this pedal after watching many demos of delay pedals. I wanted an analog sound, but liked the features of this pedal (plugs on head, rechargeable battery, etc.). When mine arrived, i let it charge and tried it out with my EVH Wolfgang through my 5150 iii 50w head mini stack.

With clean tones, i was in love with this tone. It's a digital pedal emulating analog, and the delays were warm, had clarity, and sat wonderfully in the mix. Increasing repeats led to oscillation with a fairly creamy distortion of the delay sounds. As beautiful as the gal on the artwork of the pedal.

The drawbacks came when I introduced this to any amount of gain on my amp. With channel 2 with my gain around 10 o'clock, Violet began to introduce noise, and then repeat that noise into my amp. With channel 3 (which is very high gain), Violet repeated the white noise into oscillation, rendering my signal useless.

All of this was with the pedal in front of the amp, as I found after I made purchase that these pedals are not designed to run in effects loops. To be fair, this is listed in the FAQ section on the manufacturer's website.

Violet was a fun date, but unfortunately not a keeper due to the noise. With less hot pickups in an amp less trigger happy than my EVH, I suspect she would work quite nicely.

      • "Pops" when engaging
      • Knob is not intuitive

Comments about Red Witch Violet Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I loved the fact that this pedal was very small. I also like the fact that it had a rechargeable internal battery. But the delay knob was counter-intuitive. The delay knob was "max" at 7 o clock, "min" at 4 o clock. I initially thought mine was defective because I could not get an acceptable delay sound, but it turned out that I needed to read the manual first.

But after trying it several times, I realized that there was a loud pop every time I engaged it. This of course is unacceptable. I believe mine was defective, so I unfortunately had to return it to musicians friend.

      frustrating delay

Comments about Red Witch Violet Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Simply plug between my Roland micro Cube and my ibanez hollow body, and play..
First set up: put the repeat knob at 7. you get a wonderful delay with varying length (turn the delay button). sounds nice in Clean.
Second set up: put the repeat at 12. you get a denser sound from you guitar
Third set up: put the repeat at 5. you ll get a noise that is growing louder and louder... self oscillation seems bad ? when you turn the knobs to modulate the delay in the noise, as well as changing the repeatts, you get scratches.. like if you unplug and plug your guitar... It is does not sounds as smooth as what you can get with EHX memory analog series.
Fourth set up : put the delay time to 2 to 5 (very fast). It will spring your sound. (but to hear it, with a hollow body guitar like I have, you'll need a larger WET signal in the mix, since it seems that the volume is damped through the repeats).

Conclusions : nice sounds in some setups, crushy sounds in others... so it is like half the way in both directions. That's why I would rate 2.5 stars. minus half a point for the disapointment..
It would have been nice to get the mix knob in front. because sounds is way different when changing the mix.
