OVERVIEW

Sing and play guitar through one convenient amplifier, with impressive power and full-range performance.

Loaded with high-performance neodymium speakers and 90 watts of power, the Roland AC-90 amp provides a rich, powerful sound while remaining lightweight for easy transport. The AC-90 employs a stereo 2-way speaker system that delivers transparent highs -- great for the built-in multi-band stereo chorus -- while also providing incredibly powerful low-frequency performance.

Legacy of Excellence
The AC-90 isn't just any amp on the block ¦ it's the long-awaited addition to Roland's industry-leading AC-series amp family. Roland's reputation for world-class sound, amazing performance, portability, and top-quality construction in the AC series are all upheld in this stunning amplifier.

Power Performer
With 90 watts of stereo power (45W+45W) driving top-quality neodymium speakers, the AC-90 amplifier delivers exceptional full-range performance -- from shimmering, crystal-clear highs to full-impact bottom end. This amp is more than capable of cutting though a wall of sound.

Anti-Feedback Control
Enjoy maximum volume without feedback. Simply dial in the offending frequency and the AC-90 will suppress the feedback. This allows you to roam the stage with confidence -- even with 90 watts of powerful sound at your back.

Immersive Stereo FX
The AC-90 amp's onboard stereo effects benefit from Roland's decades of industry-leading R&D. Experience the amazing spatial depth and lush sound of the stereo multi-band chorus, complete with developed WIDE mode. Delay and Reverb are provided as well, and can be controlled via footswitch.

Versatility
In addition to its amazing acoustic-guitar amplification qualities, the Roland AC-90 can also function as a portable PA system thanks to its dual-channel architecture and phantom-powered Microphone input.

Lots of inputs, separate chorus and reverb are nice, and are foot-switchable along with mute. Very well thought-out and constructed. But the mic pre-amp blew after about a week. It happens, right ? When I first received the amp and tried it out, I was happy with it. Not perfect, but very good sounding. Had a little trouble using the anti-feedback function. On the auto setting I still got some feedback even being a good distance from the amp. Tried tweaking the manual settings and had the same problem. Also, the anti-feedback function kills the sound a great deal. Makes the amp sound flat by taking out all the low frequencies. The next problem I had was after about 4 hours of play time. The amp started receiving interference. I actually heard voices through it accompanied by a LOUD hum and some squealing. Shut it off and turned it back on and it was ok for a couple of minutes and then it started doing it again. Not something you would want to happen at a gig. I returned the amp and did not request a replacement. I will be searching for a different brand amp. On the up side, Musicians Friend has THE BEST customer service I have ever dealt with. Very fast and professional. When I chose another amp to replace this one, I won't consider looking anywhere else. I played a Breedlove D25/SR that I also bought from MF and love it!

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

First I bought the AC-60, and was quite impressed. As it is not quite as loud as I had wanted, it has become my "bedroom amp" and does a great job. The AC-90 is just as clean, with just a little extra punch for playing with others. And when the 90 doesn't cut it, out comes the JC-120...

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

Simply amazing is all I can say about this new amplifier from Roland. I recently played this amp in my local Guitar Center and I was amazed at the clarity and warmth. I played a Takamine, an Ibanez and a Taylor through this amp and all sounded wonderful. I have no complaints about this or any other Roland product for that matter. My advice to you, whomever you are, reading this is to buy this amp you will not be dissapointed.

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been looking to replace my current amp with something lighter, but with a good clean sound. A friend recommended the Roland AC60, he said that he used to play one at church and it would fit my needs. While looking into this, I came across the AC90. The larger speakers and higher output seemed to fit my needs better than the AC60. I was truly impressed with the natural tones I got through this thing. The reverb is top notch. The chorus has three modes space, rich and wide. My only problem with the chorus is when it is on the space setting, if you slap down on the strings (such as in the song "More than Words") you get a hiccup sound from the chorus. This does not happen in the other two settings, so it is not a big issue for me. I am playing a 6 string Ovation and a 12 string Takamine though it. I would have given all fives on the review had it not been for the chorus issue, and no effects loop. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality sound in a lightweight box.

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

just got this amp this past week. WOW!!! It has so many features. i am confident you could make just about any acoustic guitar sound $2000.00 dollars more expensive than it already is. Has built in chorus(3 different types), reverb and delay. It has 2 independent channels, one strictly guitar and the other mic/line(2nd guitar).Xlr outputs, line in(cd/mp3), di out/tuner, recording outs and drum machine in. also has a tilt back stand and can be mounted on a tripod. It also comes with a nice padded carry case. i haven't seen any other amps out there that has this much to offer plus sounds amazing. I play a old fender short scale 000 style body guitar from 1982(Korean) with a Fishman Matrix Infinity installed. i can't believe the tone that i am now getting from this guitar. i highly recommend this amp!

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

Opened the box and found it already in the really nice carry case with a shoulder strap. Plugged it in and got to work finding settings I could leave alone to just play without worry. Attentuation of the Low/mid/high pots was easy to hear. Dialed in a good clear sound quickly. The Chorus is Roland standard to me. The reverb and delay cannot be combined, which would be nice, but still sound good on their own.
Very pleased with this little box having a room filling sound. Have let a couple other players at an Open Mic use it and they liked it too. So I got my money's worth for sure.
I would like to see a multi choice digital effects processor for each channel on this or at least an effects loop on the back patch bay. That would get the 5th star from me.
Overall I'm going to have FUN with this investment. Especially when I get the wireless gizmo's plugged into it.

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I wrote the first review of this amp almost 9 years ago (Chaff67). In all this time it has been used constantly, for the first couple years gigging regularly and the past 7 years every week at my church. In all that time I've not had a single issue with the amp, it is a true workhorse. In fact the only problem I have had was a few years back the strap on the case broke. The amp fell to the ground, but it still worked great!

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

Latest purchase for me in a long line of acoustic guitar amps. I like to sing and play guitar so I need a good acoustic guitar amp that is also able to do a decent job on vocals. With two 8" speakers this amp does well on both vocals and guitar. My only complaint is that the reverb level is not adjustable on both channels, but its not that big of a deal really as I use light reverb on both usually. Still it would be a nice feature to add to future versions of this amp. The Chorus feature is adjustable on each channel. I think its safer and more accurate to consider this amp not as a 90 watt amp but as a 45 watt. I know its two 45 watt amps, one powering each speaker and that totals 90 watts, but its really not the same kick that a higher wattage amp will give you. If you know that going in and are OK with it, this amp will work well for you. I really like the amp and am getting a good dynamic and lively acoustic guitar sound plus I am getting a good decent vocal sound as well. This amp works well in a small room of 10-20 people and can usually probably handle up to a room for 20-40 people, but any larger than that and you are going to need something that will spread the sound out a bit more (like a two speaker PA system etc). As a soloist this amp works well for me, fairly light weight, nice gig bag with a strap, good well balanced dynamic sound for guitar and vocals and it fits the size of gigs I do pretty well. I would think in a small band situation or one that is fairly low volume, this amp would be fine, but anything beyond that and you probably will be line-out to the PA and using this as a personal monitor or getting something bigger/more wattage or plugging direct in to the PA itself. I've seen some of the reviews about this amp suddenly dying and being hard to get repaired. That makes me a little nervous but I will report back after I've gigged with this for awhile. It's still a very new purchase for me. Also I think this amp may be discontinued as of 2018.

Comments about Roland AC-90 90W 2x8 Stereo Acoustic Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought 3 year ago the Roland AC-33, I really like my little AC-33, I was looking for more watts and the delay effect. In terms of watts the Roland AC-60 was the perfect option for me but I decided to buy the AC-90 due the delay and speaker configuration. I like the AC-90 , the sound is very natural, the only think I don't like is the size and weight maybe because I have a AC-33.........
