Mikro Price Not Micro Sound

By Gregory Newman

from New Mexico

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

As a broke musician this guitar will keep you rocking. the sound quality is solid and the price out of this world. Get one today or risk getting old, dull, and boring. I bought this guitar and the 6 string version. I like the short neck, it makes playing that much more enjoyable. I am sorry but for this price the overall quality of the guitar you are not going to be dissappointed.
As a short scale instument I was concerned about the sound this bass guitar would make. I was not disappointed. Of course Ibanez has made great guitars and this is no exception. As a left handed musician it becomes difficult to find suitable guitars. This guitar and the Mikro 6 string electric are both proud members of my guitar collection. These are not toys and produce great sound. I thank Ibanez for offering this guitar at a reasonable price. There is no excuse not to rock now!!!
I couldnt find any flaws in quality on this unit. A truely beautiful guitar.
The value is out of this world. You cant find a quality guitar for this price. Scoop it up!!!

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

After playing this bass guitar I don't want to play my 30" scale Beatle bass anymore much less a 34" scale bass! Lol. It is so easy to play that it makes me wonder why Fender introduced their first bass guitar with a 34" scale. This bass runs circles around any long scale bass guitar. Add to that the super fast neck, low action, P/J pickups, great tone and Ibanez quality construction is just amazing. This is now my main bass guitar after 40 years of longnecks. Ibanez hit it out of the ball park on this one. No doubt other brands will follow. This bass has no flaws of any kind. I tried to find one but couldn't. Great job, great bass!

I like it

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

Love it.
I'm a beginning bass player. I had another larger scale bass I ordered a couple of years ago. I found it hard to play, as I have small hands. The Mikro is great, it is much easier for me to play on the top frets. The neck is narrow enough for me to more comfortably get my hand around and do hammer-ons on the E string. Love it!
No complaints, not a guitar freak though.
The sound is awesome and for the price you can't go wrong, IMHO.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

I am a guitarist, vocalist, and keyboardist, and wanted to pick up bass for recording purposes mainly. I had relatively low expectations of such an affordable bass and expected to maybe have to do at list a little work on it, new strings, etc. But, this is a GREAT bass and a great value. I've always done upgrades to guitars with bone nuts, pickups, etc.; however, I'm leaving this bass as is and it is wonderful. Easy to play. Lightweight. Feels good. Has a great tone and sound and works perfectly for recording/direct into DAW, etc. The only knock I COULD give it is that I don't think the tuners hold up to other solid tuners on my guitars – so I suppose don't expect to let it sit for a day or two and for it to keep perfectly in tune, but that's not really a complaint. Just could use better tuners is all. The strings that came with it are absolutely fine and I had planned on changing, but I think they will serve many people just fine. It's also a little tricky getting the right shortscale strings for these even shorter than short scale, so easy enough to keep what came with it as they sound great. A great bass for an amazing price. You could absolutely gig with this. And especially if you are a lefty or new to bass, this is absolutely ideal.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

I never thougth much about short scale basses.I bought a mikro bass for my then 9 year old son three ago.I tried playing it and I like the tone it had(He has a righty bass).I thought of buying one for myself but I didn't like the idea of paying more for a lefty just for the fact of being lefty.a week ago I run into a used one level two here and I bought it(it was like out of the box mint).after setting the neck and cutting the A string bridge screw a little bit;perfect tunning across the finger board(I had to cut the E and A bridge screw on my son's bass.screws do not run trought and you can't get good tunning on the higher frets.you get better tunning by shortening the screws)Ibanez should try to set the bridge and neck right becouse it's a nice little bass getting bad press just for a bad set up.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

I've played professionally for more than 40yrs.
Back in the day when lefty basses were rare, I played upside down and not satisfied, had some pro
carpenters build me a lefty body and constructed my own using some parts from righty. Loved the action, sound, but played in spite of small hands.
Decided to get new bass and saw this one for my
particular need. When I received it, it was everything it stated in ad. After personal set-up,
it is now my primary bass. It's good enough to hang with the best of bands. Love the ease of the
short scale for my not so big hands. Thanks

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

After reading the reviews and looking for a good cheap studio bass, I picked up the Ibanez Mikro. You really can't go wrong with this bass for this price. Solid build - good paint, feel, electronics, tuners, neck smooth as butter ( Love that it doesn't have the typical 1/8" lacquer of many Asian models). I saw many notations of this model needing major bridge work, but mine was only a quarter turn off on 3 strings. The neck needed 1 turn to concave a bit, and the Jazz pup was a bit low. Easy adjustments and ready to go in 1/2 hour. Fine craftsmanship in a fun, small easy to play package. If you a primarily a guitar player you will really love this bass for studio and songwriting. Once again Ibanez produces a winner with a budget friendly price.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20L Mikro Left-Handed 4-String Short Scale Bass Guitar:

Took this out of the box last week and immediately started practicing for a gig the same week. I have a Hofner , but wanted a solid body for some of the heavier tunes but still a small scale neck. Action and set-up were fine out of the box with no fret buzz. I may put flat-wounds on, but not sure yet. Tone and pick up were good. Mine was a blemish-so I got a discount. Anyway, I used it at the gig with no problems and never switched to the Hofner. Nice bass for the price. Whether it becomes my go to remains to be seen.
