OVERVIEW

Develop your full musical potential with the world-famous Suzuki method.

The Suzuki Method of Talent Education is based on Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that a person is a product of his or her environment. According to Dr. Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can know comes from developing children's potential so they can fully express themselves. Students are taught to play music using the "mother-tongue" approach that emphasizes repetition and positive reinforcement.

Be aware that CD titles may be mislabeled

Comments about Alfred Suzuki Violin School Violin Part & CD Volume 4:

I like that it has different exercises in the front to get you ready for the songs and it is nice to have a CD to listen to and play along with. Each song is recorded twice. Once with piano and violin and once with piano only so you can play along. But the titles to the tracks are mislabeled. It makes it pretty confusing so what we did was to mark each song in the book 1-9 starting with the Lullaby. Then you can just match the track number up to book number. Track 10 and 11 is a repeat of 9, the duet song. 9 is all 3 parts, 10 is piano and violin bottom part, 11 is piano and top part. Then 12 -20 is a repeat of every piece with piano only.

Seems high and CD messed up

Comments about Alfred Suzuki Violin School Violin Part & CD Volume 4:

For the few songs and exercises in the book it seems high to me compared to other non-Suzuki books I buy. However, if you need it for lessons you are just going to get it. One thing to be aware of however is that the CD tracks are mislabeled. They are the right songs but with the wrong titles. So it is kind of a pain to click the right one for what you are practicing. I suggest labeling each song in the book with numbers 1-9. That way you can just look at track number and match it to song number. Track 10 is a repeat of song 9 in book, Concerto for 2 Violins, with piano and bottom part only. Track 11 is also a repeat of 9, with piano and top part only. Then tracks 12 - 20 repeats all the songs without any violin.
