On March 9, 2011 Bonhams, in association with Wallace and Hodges will be auctioning off over 150 items from Eric Clapton's personal collection to benefit the Crossroads Centre, Antigua. The sale will feature over 70 guitars and 70 amps that have helped shape Clapton's legendary sound and rich musical legacy.
Included in the sale are instruments and amps from Fender, Gibson, Marshall, Martin, and Music Man, to name a few. Some of the historic amps are associated with Clapton's career from the 1970s to today. It is the first time that such a large and interesting collection of amps has ever been offered on the auction market.
This catalog features full-color photos of each item in the auction along with a full description and the history of each item. It's a great collector's item for fans of Eric Clapton and fans of fine instruments and amplifiers.
The auction will be held in New York on Wedensday, March 9, 2011 with pre-viewing available in the Bonhams USA showrooms on the following dates:
