Learn from a master.
Flea, thrash funk master bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, presents an introspective and live performance improvisation with drummer Chad Smith in this video hosted by River Phoenix. Flea discusses the theories, philosophies, styles, sounds, and techniques he uses when performing on the bass guitar in the style he's famous for: slapping, plucking, thumping, and popping - bringing together rock, funk, punk, jazz, and Latin like never before.

Well, face it, unless you are a pro, you aren't going to look to Flea to LEARN much. I bought this video purely for drool factor. I do play bass but Flea is just awe-inspiring to watch. He does cover 2-3 of his pieces in slow motion for learners and the little book it comes with has music notation and tab for almost all the pieces he plays, including one or two warm up exercises. River Phoenix does an interview with Flea and it is cool to be able to learn some history on one of the best bass players alive. I say if you are a Flea fan, it's cool to own.
In this video Flea shows off his best stuff. It's so incredible!
