Reliability in a nut-shell.

Comments about Holton H177 Professional Farkas French Horn:

While I find that the sound does get pinched at very loud volumes. However, I notice that it doesn't have a defined 'bad note' that Holton's are famous for. (Mine, at least). I generally get a dark tone quality, and I find it hard to produce a bright, brassy, march-like sound on the H177 as opposed to the H179. However, the H177 overlay is what I prefer. It has a better feel, for me personally at least, and I feel that it fits my body better. It is a reliable horn that is definitely worth the price. It's definitely under-rated more often than not.
