The shell of the FH7 is the first thing you’ll notice upon examining a pair of them. The six adjacent ripples that cover the outward facing side recalls ocean waves, and perhaps serve as a metaphor for the transportive musical experience they offer.

The FH7 shell is in itself a marvel of engineering. It is constructed from an aerospace-grade aluminum-magnesium alloy, and shaped by five-axis CNC machining. The shell goes through 21 steps in a total of 3873 cuts over the course of its production/ It is finished with a final round of sandblasting and hand polishing.

Exotic-inspired acoustic structural design
Powerful drivers need to be contained in a solid shell for maximum performance. The FH7 employs an exceptionally rigid three-point structure to greatly reduce unwanted resonance and distortion, for the purest sound possible. It features four 13.6mm custom Knowles BA drivers. Even its 8-stranded monocrystalline silver-plated copper cable contributes to the FH7’s pristine, distortion free audio. The FH7 cable is composed of high-purity Litz monocrystalline copper-plated silver wires – 152 of them in fact, bundled into 8 strands.

Specially-customized design that just fits
The FH7's 4 Knowles balanced armature drivers plus a beryllium dynamic drivers perfectly cover all parts of the sound frequency spectrum through sophisticated crossover and turbo acoustics designs.

High and ultra-high frequencies: These parts of the frequency spectrum are handled by the Knowles SWFK-31736 BA driver, often utilized in top-of-the-line IEMs. This driver is extremely detailed but without being harsh, giving you natural, crystal-clear sound.
Mid frequencies: This is handled by a custom BA driver designed by FiiO and Knowles in conjunction with each other. Fiio took the classic Knowles 30017 driver and tweaked it to give the mids more body, for fuller and sweeter vocals as well as a larger soundstage.
Low frequencies: The 13.6mm large dynamic driver is made of beryllium, known for being light, thin, yet extremely rigid for even deeper, explosive bass.
Through optimizing the damping and internal structure, the air pressures at the front and rear cavities of the FH7 are balanced, relieving uneven pressure from your eardrums for greater comfort when listening.

The FH7 utilizes a complex crossover design that was not easy to create and implement. However, it pays off by allowing extremely accurate crossover tuning that enables the five drivers to work together to their maximum potential, with an extremely coherent and smooth frequency response.
