This alarm clock was featured in an upscale hotel I stayed in recently. I was pleased at the volume of the 'buzzer' alarm, not a loud jarring buzzer, rather a soft but effective beeping sound. I don`t know if this alarm would be effective for sound or deep sleepers, but there are 2 other alternative alarms; wake to a favorite CD, or AM/FM radio, both with volume control.
