A multi-purpose dual-zone pad that works with nearly any e-drum setup.

This velocity-sensitive Alesis DMPad gives you natural dynamic response in a dual-zone percussion pad with a soft, rubber head for realistic feel and rebound. The Alesis DMPad's dual-zone sensing enables you to trigger sounds from both the head and the rim, so you can perform rimshots, rim clicks, or assign other sounds, such as wind chimes, cymbals, gongs, and cowbells to the rim trigger. The Alesis DMPad works with virtually all e-percussion modules and devices including the Alesis DM6, DM5, Trigger|iO, and ControlPad. Alesis includes a rack clamp, L-arm, and cable with the dual-zone DMPad.

Comments about Alesis DMPad Dual-Zone Percussion Pad:

Play it professionally and it does just what I intended it to do.
A great addition to this kit. I program a cymbal or a drum on the primary trigger, depending on the kit, and then program a cowbell, block or other percussion on the rim to compliment the song.
Requires some trigger adjustment and patients. Electronic drums seem to change with what they are played through so dialing them in is important if you are not using the same PA or Amp each time you are playing. Don't think it's the gear when it's the sound source. Be patient and give yourself time to get the sound right. The pad trigger in particular is prone to missing if not set correctly.

Comments about Alesis DMPad Dual-Zone Percussion Pad:

i got this pad in a set with my Alesis Dm6 kit. i was impressed with it at first, but then i realised. the rim does nothing, i've hit it, i've tried doing rim clicks but all it does it make the snare sound. On the rare occasion it does work i have to hit inside the rim on the pad, which gives the rim no purpose. I've checked my module set up and i set up two different sounds to trigger when i hit either the snare or the rim. So far i only get a snare sound when i hit everywhere on the pad and only in a few select spots does the second sound trigger. i've worked with it so that i can figure out where the sound can be produced so i know where to hit, but the rim is really just a way to fancy up the pad and make it look nice. It works, but you have to mess around with it
