The G28 Acrylic Snare drum from GMS is to regular snare drums like a formula one racing car is to your average commuter sedan. So it's little surprise that the acrylic shell is decked out with racing stripes. The drum's acrylic shell offers a brighter, louder voice in comparison to wood shell drums. The drum has an excellent crack with a medium-warm resonance.
The drum's bearing edges utilize a 45-degree cut on the inside of the shell and a shallow 45-degree counter cut on the outside. The throw-off and butt system was designed to be simple, trouble-free, and effective. The snare drum features 20 strand heat treated high carbon steel snare wire. Hoops are 2.3mm steel triple flanged. GMS acrylic snare drum ships with an Evans coated G1 top, and 300 gauge snare wire.
