They are expensive. Yes. But you get what you pay for and these congas can't be matched by any other.Tones are beautiful and resonate perfectly and the slaps are incredible. I have had these for over 4 years and wouldn't trade/buy any other instrument.

These are without a doubt the best congas ever made. They are far more beautiful than the photos show, they project a full rich tone and they are engineered to last a lifetime. I bought the conga and tumba but I plan to also purchase the quinto and requinto when I can afford to. I am impressed with the 3/8" tuning rods and the Kevlar reinforcement that will allow high torque tuning without worry of damage to the drums. They came with high quality bison heads that sounded great but I have replaced them with Remo Skyndeep heads for extra sensitivity and tuning stability.

I have played the Patato, Original, and Galaxy congas. There all great, but the best is the Galaxy. First I love the look, it has sparkles with the gold heavy duty hardware. The most important reason is the open tone and slaps. The slaps are easy and the open tones sound warmer then the Patato and Original congas. The drums are very responsive, you don't need to play hard to get a sound. The tones are bright, maybe not as much as the Patato, but bright nonetheless. This drum is the king of the fiberglass congas.
