Good for the most part

Comments about Meinl Pickup Snare Cajon with American White Ash Frontplate:

This cajon is a nice piece of hardware. I love playing it and the pick up was well worth it. Although I did not like the sound of the snares. I ended up taping the snares into for sections to creat a tighter sound. It is difficult to get that bass out but a little play with the face plate and you will get that sweet spot.

Comments about Meinl Pickup Snare Cajon with American White Ash Frontplate:

This cajon is perfect for an acoustic band! The pick up is a vast improvement compared to the one without it. The subtle varying tones really add to any song. The only flaw may be the lack of a strong snare sound, but I prefer the sound without strong snares.

Comments about Meinl Pickup Snare Cajon with American White Ash Frontplate:

Highly anticipated, I ordered my cajon from Musician's Friend via Guitar Center, and picked it up the other day. I'm primarily a guitarist but am recording a new EP where I'm playing all the instruments, so buying a cajon and new bass, etc. was a must. I began the hunt for a quality cajon a month or two ago, and had initially thought a Pearl Boombox would be my best bet because I'm looking for an awesome bass sound, until I watched a video of an acoustic performance where the drummer was playing a cajon that had a fantastic quality. I paused the video at a close up so I could see the brand. The sound was a lot bigger than I've heard other cajons produce, in both bass and snare sound, and after reading a few reviews online I quickly determined that this was the one I needed. As soon as I took it out of the box, I was impressed by how soft the pad on top is; it makes it quite comfortable to sit on, which I'll need for days of recording. The craftsmanship of the instrument is beautiful, it's nice and lightweight, has a great bass sound, and the adjustable snare is a huge plus. I'm VERY satisfied with my purchase and I'd recommend this cajon to any musician looking to expand their repertoire. Thanks, Meinl!
