A strong, full, and sturdy crash cymbal for universal use in the pop or rock field.

This Paiste Alpha Medium Crash features a brilliant finish with a bright, full, and shimmering character. It has a medium range, and a fairly clean mix with a balanced, responsive feel.

Alpha cymbals were first launched by Paiste in 1992. Today, the Alpha brand is synonymous with dependability, and the cymbals are well known for their first-class sound and fair prices. The Alpha Series is now available in a Brilliant Finish, once again advancing these trusted qualities.

The cymbal's brilliant look is accomplished by skilled craftsmen who hand polish the cymbals to a mirror perfect finish in the final production stage. Prior to that, top-notch hi-tech processes give Alpha cymbals their initial shape and strength. They are further enhanced by traditional hand-hammering.

Alpha cymbals have become very popular among professional artists, especially in rock and metal. Working with such drummers, Paiste developed new cymbal models to expand the arsenal available for players in these genres.

Paiste Alpha cymbals have developed a strong following in recent years and are today endorsed by numerous working drummers all over the world, such as Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch, Jason Sutter with Chris Cornell, Dave Witte of Municipal Waste, Tommy Portimo of Sonata Arctica, and Steven Spence of Black Tide.

    Best Uses

Comments about Paiste Alpha Medium Crash, Brilliant:

I've had the 16" for a while now. I bought it as a "step up" from the PST5 series when I first started playing drums seriously. Well, I recently started a new band playing drums again after a long hiatus and I'm using my old cymbals with my new kit.

We laid down some tracks for an EP and I just heard a rough mix. This cymbal sounds great! I was worried that the cymbals would end up sounding cheap in the mix but this doesn't! I've been shopping around for a while now looking at high-end, pro-level cymbals but now I'm rethinking that.

In a studio situation I imagine that's where you'd be able to hear just how bad your cymbals are. But this one works! I recommend this to everyone who wants some great cymbals but really doesn't need to spend as much as they did on their kit for them!

      Best budget cymbal you'll find

Comments about Paiste Alpha Medium Crash, Brilliant:

The only point that gives these less than a perfect rating is that I would like a little longer sustain, but that might be just what makes it for someone else. Hands down, the best cymbal in it's price range.
Great look, great sound and great price. 'Nuff said!
I have the 14" brilliant finish and am very pleased with it. I am currently expanding my recently aquired kit, on a strict budget, and the Paiste Alphas fill the bill nicely. I will be getting these in 16" and 18" as well. For someone who likes 'glassy' sounding crashes the, Alphas deliver. This beauty delivers at any playing intensity. I would like to have a bit more sustain from my cymbals, but otherwise the sound is excelent. I can't speak for the durability for heavy hitters, I have good cymbal technique and haven't broken a cymbal in over twenty years (not even those flimsy Wuhans), so I expect these to last the rest of my life.
I have played cymbals I liked better, but they cost a lot more.

I got the 18" and the 16" for christmas and lemme tell you these cymabals surely get the job done! the 16 is ok nice sound a little bright i suppose but its still good. the 18 which is my favorite is awesome! my new favorite new cymbal all my band memebers love it. it has a nice bell too kinda high pitched but i like it :] if ur a beginner to an extreme drummer i highgly recommend these. ive had em for 2 months now and not a scrath yet still gleeming with that brilliant finish. :] at first it'll seem ok but after a week or two and there broken in they sound fantastic! oh and one more thing all those top of the line cymabals like A customs and what not. to me there not the greatest cymbals i would take the 18" over an A custom any day thats just how good i think these cymabals are but everyone has thier own preferences and opinions so if i was you id go to ur closest music shop and compare them. happy drumming!

      Great Crash

Comments about Paiste Alpha Medium Crash, Brilliant:

I've had the 18" for a month or so, and so far it's perfect. The brilliant finish looks great, and the sound of this cymbal matches it's looks. Opens up easily and is bright without annoying overtones...and is plenty loud. My wife complains about me being a heavy hitter (she plays bass) and so far not a mark on this cymbal. You can't go wrong with this cymbal!
