Comments about Roland TD-9K2-S V-Tour Series Drum Set:

This Roland kit is awesome! I got mine from my local shop, but I use Musicians Friend all the time for other gear, and I had to write a review for this kit. I live in an apartment, so noise is an issue for normal acoustic kits. I got this (mine came with an extra floor tom) hooked up and was blown away! I love the feel of the kit, the sounds it can produce are fantastic, and overall functions and features. You can practice with songs, and Mute certain tracks, suck as the installed drum track, and you can play along with your own beats. You can make your own custom kits, with all different sounds. I love this kit, and realized I should have bought one a LONG time ago. GET THIS KIT!

Comments about Roland TD-9K2-S V-Tour Series Drum Set:

If you're looking for a quality, reliable electric kit for a great price, then look no further. Seriously, this kit has blown my expectations out of the water, and continues to do so as the days go by. The beating that the hardware can take combined with its versatility of the module is incredible.
It would take me days to go over all of the amazing things about this kit, but I'll keep it short.

First of all, the features on this product are wonderful and plentiful. Right out of the box you have a multitude of kits at your disposal. Regardless of which genre you play, the TD-9 module will have your style matched. If there's something that you don't like about a certain kit, you can tweak it in a huge variety of ways and it's very intuitive and easy to use.

One great feature that I've had a wonderful time messing around with is the ability to create up to 10 of your own kits (or more if you feeling like altering the pre-set kits). In total you have 15-19 different sounds to assign for a single kit if you include closed hats, and I personally take advantage of every one. The capabilities of the TD-9 module are seemingly endless and can meet your needs in ways you would never have thought of.

One thing that is definitely worth mentioning is how incredibly easy this kit was to set up right out of the box. I think it took me about 45 minutes to have it all un-boxed and pieced together exactly the way that I wanted it.
The Roland name simply goes hand in hand with quality. I've seen these electric kits sit in stores for years and just take an absolute beating. At my local store this kit has been been used for display for at least 2 years straight and I've seen the hardest hitters and children put it through its courses. Still sounds like a dream, and the responsiveness is just amazing.
This combination of hardware and module is just a knockout for value. Also, if you're considering the TD-4, just shell out the extra cash and get the TD-9, because you'll kick yourself if you don't. I'm glad I made the decision myself.

TD-9K2-S V-Tour

Comments about Roland TD-9K2-S V-Tour Series Drum Set:

Do not like the default set up. Too muffled and can't hear the cymbals at all. To hear them I had to increase the sensitivity a lot. I'm hoping some of the other parameters can be changed to improve cymbal performance even more. Absolutely love the song function. I am learning a whole bunch of new rythms.
The distinction between TD-9K TD-9K2 TD-9K2-S and TD-9K2-S-V Tour escapes me. I thought I was getting a TD-9K2 V-Tour but ended with an invoice for a TD-9K. I do seem to have the upgrade, does that mean it is now a TD-9K2? And what would make it a V-Tour? What does the S mean? Anyway I am very pleased with the overall quality. This is my first foray into V drums after many years of not playing at all. The default settings are less than appealing every thing is so muffled. After much poking and hoping all but the ride cymbal sounds reasonable. I have a CY-13R. The cable is labeled for a CY-12R. Is this the problem? Or just poor quality control. I don't know. I have a freind who actually uses this as a touring kit and he gave up and bought some Zilgians and dumped the electronic cymbals. My rating may be higher eventually as I learn the system and tweak further.
