I got this cymbal as a gift about 2 years ago and overall, its not that great of a cymbal. The bow and edge are loud, clangy, and sounds like you're hitting trash can lids, they do have a decent pitch to them, but it's hard to hear through the cymbals endless ringing. If you're looking for a fast decaying ride thats nice for recording or playing in small rooms, or playing quietly, do not get this cymbal. I would put a sock on the other end of the cymbal to mute it, and thats the only way I could use it for anytype of recording. The bell of the cymbal is the one saving aspect of this cymbal, it has a nice high pitched ping that cuts through other music well, but no matter what part of the cymbal you hit, it will ring... and it will ring... and it will ring, it has nearly no decay at all. Unless you play live alot, in a really loud band, It's not a good thing. Although the cymbal has its faults, I've had it for two years, and it barely has a scratch on it. So if you're a hard hitter go ahead and buy this cymbal, it may or may not last you a while, I don't hit very hard most of the time, so I can't judge if it will or not to well. But anyway, as for the price goes, its a decent price, but you really do get what you pay for.Overall, the bell sounds decent if playing loud, and as for the rest of the cymbal, if you like rides that ring and never stop then go ahead and get it. I'd recommend the cymbal to someone who only has enough to buy this cymbal, and possibly to someone who plays loud, but even still, you can get way better for around 50 bucks more or less. Grade = D+

I was trying out rides at the store and this one stood out. The 'ding' was cutting through better than all the others. I mostly record my own drumming and the 'ding' build-up seemed overpowering in my small room. The high end clang worked good on some but was too harsh on others. Then I played together with some old mates and the drummer used my kit and the ride was so clear and loud. so it depends on the use.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

ok, a 5 on features cause, well, it's a ride cymbal. it's not like it has cool effects knobs or anything. got this ride about 3 years back. this ride costs about a third of what it's worth. the ping is supurb. it's overall sound and feel is identical to a zildjian ping ride, with a slightly deeper tone. i was ready to leave the shop with the zildjian, but i figured i'd tap on every ride there just to be certain. i asked for the price and couldn't belive what i was told. excellent buy.

Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

This cymbal is a great value and overall has very nice sound quality. It rings for a long time, which can be used to your advantage, but can also be harmful to the sound of your playing. The cymbal's bell gives off a very nice "ping" sound, but the bell itself is rather small. This is not a big deal, but rather something to slightly consider. In all, this cymbal is a great purchase.

This cymbal is pretty good, but it just doesn't have the sound I want. If you want a cymbal that rings, get it, if not, don't.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

I used this as a ride for 2 years, and this thing has the most puny bell of any ride, it just didn't sound right...THEN I mounted it as a crash and all is well, just put a remo spoxe on the top and it sounds better than those aax crashes. the best part is this is the only cymbal I have that isn't done for as a crash, so heavy hitters, you want a crash that'll last ya, HERE YOU ARE!!!

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

This is probably had the most ping of all the rides I've played. Ring lasts forever. I know a friend who hit it, went to take a shower, came back, and it was still ringing slightly. Piercing overtones, whether you think that's a good thing or not is up to you, I don't. Good studio sound, but horrible acoustic sound. Need to use duct tape to control ring.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

I got his looking for a moderatley priced 20inch + ride. I found this read the reviews and ordered it. I just got it today and dont like it at all. A planet z crashride I recieved with my kit sounds better. Maybe I got a dud, but it is not worth it

Sounds good but...

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

This medium ride sounds great. It has a clear ping to it that isn't too loud nor quiet. The only complaint I have about it is that the bell is very small, quiet, and hard to hit. Another thing is that it collects stick marks quickly. Of course this might be avoided if you were to use plastic tip sticks. Overall it is a excellent ride and I will continue to use it.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

I bought this a little over two months ago, and really like it. Hitting it on the edge will give you a bit more of a radiating sound, while higher up still shows off a nice tap. Its durability can be amazing. The bell is rather small though, but that's just about my only complaint.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

Great low-grade professinal cymbal. great bright sound that isn't extremely incisive, therefore it blends with most music. Nice bell tone, especially in transition phases of a recording or just ride to bell. I can here a slight overtone in mine but i'm quite satisfied other than that. Good cymbal for an awesome price.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

If you are considering buying this ride, do it! I purchased this ride from a local music store. This thing is awesome! It sounds great and has no flaws unless you absolutely have to have a gigantic bell. The bell does sound good, though. I'm in a metal band and this thing still works great. All in all, it's a great buy and you've got nothing to lose!

B8 Pro is the Best!

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

I have fallen in love with the b8 Pro line. Considering that each product varies from version to version (this review is gonna get long), the Medium Ride I used was very good. This ride is similar to that of a "dry" ride, considering its weight, so it's not paricularly cutting. The overtones should be no problem. The only complaint is the bell, which is too small. This is a good ride. Personally, I'm attarcted to the B8 Pro Power Rock Ride, as it is more cutting and the bell is larger and stronger. Anything from the B8 Pro section is a million times better compared to anything out of the Zildjian ZXT and Paiste 802 series.

Great Bell, Esp. For Blast Beats...

By BMan-zFUfH

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Medium Ride:

I purchased the Sabian B8 Pro Ride and let me tell you, it was a steal. I fell in love with it the day I tried it out at home. I play in a grindcore/hardcore band and this cymbal has dominating sounds when I do blast beats on the bell. Has about 5-10 seconds of ringing.
