Deep low-end presence.

The Starclassic Performer Birch/Bubinga EFX Series drums feature birch-bubinga shells with a sweet and fat sound that has a serious punch. These drums use the Star-Cast Mounting System and tom holder for maximum resonance and rock-solid positioning. At every level, these meticulously crafted drums have been designed to allow you to express who you are.

By using bubinga wood for the inner layer of the birch shell, Tama has created another chapter in the Starclassic series.

Hoops not only affect drum tuning, they also affect drum sound. That's why the choice of hoops was so important to the designers of Tama's professional drum lines. For Tama's Starclassic Performer birch/bubinga EFX, Tama chose zinc die-cast hoops, which are manufactured by injecting molten metal into molds. Die-cast hoops have more density and are more consistent in shape than triple flanged hoops, which are manufactured by bending metal plates. Die-cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier to achieve because the tension bolts always contact the hoop properly. Drums fitted with die-cast hoops also offer crisper attack, clear and resonant highs and much more powerful rim shots.

Starclassic's new claw hooks feature rubber spacers that help protect wood hoops from damage. The hooks and hoops work as one unit and won't separate or rattle, even on loose tunings.

Tama's MSB30 die-cast bass drum bracket holds the spur bracket securely, thanks to the same powerful hinge mechanism used on the MTB30 mounting bracket. Unique memory markers found on the folding spur bracket help simplify setup.

Starclassic's Air Pocket rubber feet feature a special air chamber, that eliminates the transfer of vibrations to the floor (which chokes sustain and sound) and absorbs shock for better playing.

Evans drumheads are featured on all Starclassic Performer birch/bubinga EFX drums (except bass drum front heads). On the rack and floor toms, Genera G2 2-ply clear batter heads and Genera G1 1-ply clear bottom heads provide both durability and solid sound. Starclassic bass drums are fitted with Genera EQ4 clear batter heads.

a very cool set.

The perfect blend between the hard hitting attack of maple, but with the great tones of birch. This is a seriously heavy drumset. Make sure you've got some big arms if you're going to be lugging it around. Not too bad on the wallet either for the quality.

Amazing Kit

I bought this kit in July and have yet to be disappointed. I even have them on my bands music video. They look amazing and sound amazing too. They are beautiful under stage lights. I still have the stock heads on them since they are evans g2, which are pretty good heads. This kit is easy to tune and just sounds amazing. Worth the money for sure

This kit overall sounds great. After getting some aquarian heads on the shells they sound amazing. I added a supra phonic snare by ludwig and it really made the kit complete. Kinda pricey but overall worth it!
