OVERVIEW

Random hammering creates authentic 'Chinese' sounds!

The Zildjian ZHT China cymbal creates metallic explosions with trashy dark overtones.

For their ZHT series Zildjian chose Ultimate Sheet Bronze, an alloy with a higher tin content for enhanced low- and mid-frequencies. This extraordinarily musical metal is combined with ultra-modern manufacturing techniques and extensive hammering to create value-priced cymbals with sounds that are both modern and traditional.

I've always played Wuhan chinas but after reading some positive reviews on the ZHT i decided to give it a shot. A 16" Wuhan only lasts me a few months before a crack develops so i figured i'd spend more money and get something that lasts. I bought the 16" ZHT and put it on my kit right away.. And then took it off and put my broken Wuhan back on! The ZHT is pingy and rings waaaaaaay too long. I play hardcore/metalcore mostly and use the china for breakdowns more than just for an accent. So if you're looking for an effect cymbal for the same reasons, DO NOT waste your money on this. WUHAN is a much better sounding cymbal and muuuuuch cheaper.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

This cymbal sounds fine, but it is not very sturdy(which seems to be a problem with Zildjian). It sounds great, but after a few weeks of play time it has some very obvious dents. It has not cracked, but I'm sure that will come soon. Overall, a fine cymbal if you're on a budget.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

This China is terrible. The sound is very tinny and bright, not trashy at all. This sounds more like hitting a China plate than it does a cymbal. PROS: Very shinyCONS: Sounds terribleIf you're on a budget go with Wuhan. If you're not on a budget, go with Wuhan. Best sounding and best priced chinas.

Decent cymbal

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

I got this china around 6 months ago with the EFX that comes with it in some packages. The EFx broke the next week, but the china has yet to crack, and I beat that thing to death. Its super loud and rings a lot in the garage but on stage it sounds amazing!!! Although I do prefer Wuhan for all of my effects cymbals, this one is not bad, especially for the price.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

I just got mine today and it has a beautiful brilliant finish and it sounds great very loud whch is good for my kind of music, so you don't have to put much effort into hitting it, its a solid cymbal so it shouldn't crack but get a warranty just in case.

      Great, but a bit loud

      By Anonymous

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

This China has a very good sound, but seems a bit too loud. I have two Avedis Zildjian Crashes which are of the perfect volume, but this china seems to be too cutting and hurts my ears a bit.Unless you want to perform ear-splitting metal songs, I would look for a china with less volume.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

This is by far one of the best chinas I've ever played. You probably wouldn't think it to be that good at all, being that its a ZHT, but I've played Orinetals, AAs, A customs, and Wuhans, and this is just as good as any of them at half the price. Durable, loud, cheap, and best of all, it doesn't sound like a trash can lid! I'm very pleased with this and I'd deifinatley replace it with the same one if it broke, which is unlikeley. Buy it now.

      Great Buy

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

I actually bought the 16 inch china slightly used from a friend, and i admit it was worth it even used. It sounds amazing, not too loud or soft, with the perfect china sound. It is a little bit pingy. i did make the mistake of tightening it down to much, so it didnt move, and created a warp where i hit it, and eventually cracked. but dont let that stop you, its well worth it!

      Quite the useful cymbal.

      By Galefore

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

Although not my favorite of my two chinas, this is indeed quite the beauty. It cuts rather well, and, to my ears, is improving as it ages. I've had it for three months, and as of yet it has yet to receive a single dent. If you desire a mid-quality china within a relatively affordable price range, get this. I also recommend getting it packaged with the 16' EFX.

I just got this cymbal as a birthday gift with an iron cobra double-bass pedal(which is AWESOME). well it sounds great with my double-bass but don't get it if you dont have a splash because it sounds kinda weird without the splash.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

This cymbal does take a beating, but it is thin and it does crack. I've found that for every little chunk that flies off as i play it sounds better and better. Mine's missing a huge chunk out of one side and it still somehow has musical sound. It's not the quickest or trashiest china, but it does last, and its certainly worth the price. It blends well with my Z customs and A customs, so all in all its not a bad buy.

I got this cymbal a couple years back. That was before they made it better(I think?). I have at least 4 cracks and a huge piece of of it came off. If your looking for a cheap china that lasts don't buy thing one.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

Hey everyone. I love zildjian cymbals, but im sorry to say that this cymbal makes zildjian look horrible. I got this cymbal sometime back in early december. And i used it for about a month until it started to dent and get really bent up. Then last month i noticed the first crack in it. The only good thing about this cymbal, is it sounds good when its first played. Other than that, its not worth it.

Comments about Zildjian ZHT China Cymbal:

I have all ZBTs and A series. I also have the 18 inch ZHT china. I've got to say I'm extremely impressed. It works best with other effects or large cymbals. Don't expect it to "Cut through the mix" as they like to advertise. Its best used as a way to get a full sound out of fill. It doesnt build up well, and is better used for large crashes only. Overall it works well with all the other cymbals I have. I would recommend.
