Comments about Kohala Tiki Concert Ukulele with Tuner:
A short back story first. As I read the description for this uke. I was not familiar with linden wood. So I looked it up. Turns out it is just another name for bass wood, which is usually associated with lesser expensive electric instruments. Having said that it is not a horrible tone wood, at least for a uke. The tone is pretty and bright. I suppose it lends itself better to painting than a natural look. Kohala does not go heavy handed with the paint it is very thin and not glossy so it doesn't muffle the tone. The biggest selling factor for this uke. is the tiki shaped bridge. Very cool to look at. It plays nicely, but does require a little patience to tune it. I don't know if they are using very low end Aquila strings or if it's the bridge configuration but it's tough to get in tune. I know this is a common problem with ukes. or any nylon string instrument for that matter but this uke. tends to be a bit more stubborn. The onboard tuner is great, it matches my clip-ons and the Korg tuner I use. Bottom line it is very fun to play and it's different, never a bad thing when you have multiple ukes.

Comments about Kohala Tiki Concert Ukulele with Tuner:
Bought it as a present for a younger relative. Takes a while to get it in tune, but because it has a built in tuner, that isn't such a problem. Takes a while for it to start holding in tune too, but again, the tuner helps.
