Don't Forget

An ode to the roots of American blues for the modern player who wants to relive that sound.

Built in 1927, US Route 51 has a history forever linked with jazz and blues music. It was the road that many travelling musicians used to make their living, playing gigs between cities such as Jackson, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee, hotbeds of the American soundscape at the time.

Inspired by the musicians that have travelled this road and contributed to the evolution of music today, Alvarez created the Blues51. This arched back designed acoustic combines a solid A+ Sitka spruce top with a rosewood body, neck and fingerboard to give you a more sweeping frequency range, ideal for reaching all the emotive notes needed to express your feelings. The high gloss tobacco sunburst finish adds to it's vintage appeal and will help it last for years.

Comments about Alvarez Blues51 Acoustic Guitar:

Received this guitar today, a day earlier than I expected. This is a beautiful guitar that projects sound well. And this is in spite of the fact that this instrument seems thinner than my other guitars. I suspect the slightly arched back contributes to the projection of sound. The finish is perfect. Although I have read a high gloss finish negatively affects the guitar's resonance, I still love the appearance. I am surprised and impressed with the quality appearance of this guitar. The sound from this guitar is deep and rich. I especially like the strong bass, that I've not found in other smaller guitars I've owned. The wide neck makes this guitar very comfortable for fingerpicking. I have owned a Martin D-28, a Yamaha, Guild Mahogany with arched back, Breedlove Parlor, Manuel Rodriguez classical, La Patrie Collecition (Godin), Simon and Patrick Songsmith Folk, Seagull S6 Folk. This Alvarez compares favorably with these guitars. Most recently, I have been playing my Seagull (a 26 year old guitar) more than my others. I expect I'll be playing my new Alvarez more than any of the others now. I am very pleased with this purchase and expect I'll be purchasing other Alvarez guitars, including a parlor. The Alvarez seems to be a very high quality instrument considering the reasonable price.

Nice low action,, fast neck, great bluesy sound

Comments about Alvarez Blues51 Acoustic Guitar:

I am a beginner with small hands. This guitar makes me sound better than I am. Fast neck, easy to chord. Low string set means less fret buzz for me. It is very comfortable to play and I can settle in for an hour easily.
It does not have the dreadnought "boom" since it has a smaller body. But the growl and thump of a blues guitar is there. I could not be happier and I recommend it to anyone.

Comments about Alvarez Blues51 Acoustic Guitar:

Smaller than a dread, it's a folk -size guitar. It has a lovely little growl to it when you start thumping on that alternating bass. I use it primarily to play fingerstyle country blues, and it's definitely in its element there. I prefer it over my Martin for that purpose, which I use for most everything else. I also like it as a couch guitar because a dread is just too big. This guitar got great reviews in Acoustic Guitar, and I would have to concur. It has impeccable craftsmanship for a Chinese-made instrument and top-notch materials. If you're a blues player, this one is worth your look. I would definitely purchase it again.
