    Comments about Danelectro Baby Sitar:

I loved this sitar the minute I took it out of the box. Playing those first notes was a revelation for me, just a great sitar sound from a very nicely constructed instrument. I can't believe Danelectro could nail that sound so well, a sound that just begs for endless improvisation. The quality is great, especially for the price, and it is a gas to play. I am very happy with this purchase and also happy that I was able to find this kind of instrument, which every lover of the 60's sound should own.

      Comments about Danelectro Baby Sitar:

Very interesting instrument - The sound is pretty awesome - The craftsmanship feels a little clunky, but overall, it sounds great and semi-easy to adjust. You just need to know how to adjust the bridge and strings.
I contacted Danelectro to ask them these questions and they were very helpful in this.
Overall it's a very nice and fun instrument to play! I am going to use this to record with and maybe some live gigs as well. Get one!

        Comments about Danelectro Baby Sitar:

A very good concept integrating the Gotoh buzz bridge with a delightfully designed body! I received mine with no insightful guidance on the set-up. It sounded encouraging right out of the box, but the intonation was terrible. Comments online also indicated this, and the prevailing suggestion for a fix involved relocating the Gotoh bridge. However, I happened to slightly tweak (an eighth turn on one of the bridge screws) and it all came together -intonation, sound quality! So, my take-away is very positive for Danelectro and Musician's Friend, with an encouragement to continue support for this wonderful, unusual instrument.

          Comments about Danelectro Baby Sitar:

This instrument is so cool and incredibly has an authentic sitar sound. I recorded with it on one of my own songs through Garage Band and the thing sounds amazing. I can't afford to go to India, by a 4 foot Indian-made sitar and take lessons from Ravi Shankar, but this Danelectro baby sitar makes all that unnecessary anyway. Sit down and play this instrument and see if you don't want to improvise and groove on the hypnotic tones endlessly. I'll say this about Danelectro, when they implore you to "Own the tone," they are spot on.

            Comments about Danelectro Baby Sitar:

Could not be more please with this purchase. I've tried other electric sitars with the sympathetic strings and dual pickup and was skeptical that this one would hold up against the "real deal." Much to my surprise this surpasses my expectations. The single PUP config sounds great -- and authentic. And unlike the original semi-hollow body electric sitars the solid body of the Baby Sitar seems to add some "bite" to the tone. The guitar came perfectly setup from the factory and I can barely put it down. It is just a blast to riff-around on and adding a good dose of reverb gives just that right retro sound. The only adjustment I made was lowering the PUP height on the low strings and raising it on on the high string side. And that is just a matter of preference.
