Musician's Friend put this guitar on sale and as I was looking for a backup for my Taylor, and I had heard good things about the D'Angelico guitars, I decided to take a chance. The fit and finish exceeded my expectations and would have at full price, even better with the savings. I decided to try it out in rehearsal with my duo singing partner, keeping the Taylor nearby...and I never stopped, for nearly three hours. It just feels good to play, and with the Fishman electronics, sounds sweet in the amplifier. It could very well be my go-to guitar on many occasions. If D'Angelico can produce this kind of quality at this price point, wonder how much better are their more expensive models?

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Bowery Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The guitar I received was setup up great right out of the box. Many of the reviews said they needed a setup but this guitar came with nice low action. The finish is wonderful. The tone is nice and it sounds very good played through the sound system. I have a top line Guild , Gibson, Tacoma, Composite Acoustics and top line Alverez, Yamaha Acoustics as well, so I know how to compare these instruments. It is a great guitar for the money. I would recommend for anyone wanting a guitar that's affordable and stage worthy.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Bowery Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am so happy with this purchase. It feels spectacular. I shaved the saddle down to lower the action, but this played really well just out of the box. I bought this for live gigs. I put a feedback plug in the sound hole, so I can't be too critical, but the sound is surprisingly full amd balanced for a guitar in this price range. The Art Deco theme and the overall look are unique but not gawdy, in my opinion. The finish and detailing are fantastic. I got the natural finish and the top is not a perfectly consistent grain, but again - for this price range, it's great. The tuners are the Art Deco theme, are slightly smaller than standard tuners, and take a little getting used to. I replaced the string pins with some that were more shallow and to my liking. Plugged in is where this guitar really shines for me. The Fishman preamp is responsive and sounds great. I feel like I got a steal.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Bowery Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My first D'Angelico. I'd been eyeing their more expensive models, so when the Bowery became a Stupid Deal, it seemed like a good place to jump in. Aesthetically, it's prettier than the picture (I got the natural), with a visible wood grain on the top, binding all around, and the funky headstock. I haven't weighed it, but it feels lighter than comparable acoustics. The tone is pleasantly balanced between lows, mids and highs. The big attraction would be the neck, which is the closest to an electric I've found, although the Fender T-Bucket is right up there too. It has better projection than the Fender, though, closer to a Taylor. Sounds great through my Loudbox, so I wouldn't hesitate to take it out. It's a warm, cuddly creature, and left me with a favorable impression of D'Angelico.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Bowery Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play in a cover band, and I do a lot of acoustic when it is needed. The sound is exceptionally rich, the action very good, and the fit and feel makes me think I purchased a much more expensive guitar (Taylor, Martin, Gibson etc) This is my second D'Angelico, the 1st was the Excel EX-SS which was a fantastic electric, that I knew the acoustic would be as good a quality as that was. And it is. Both were "Stupid Deals of the Day" I would have to say I did get not "Stupid" but Fantastic deals. Both are great guitars.

Bought this on a Stupid deal of the day offer. The price for what I got was outstanding. This guitar sounds great and plays really well. The action was low (as I prefer) and acoustically it sounded full and rich. I have not had the opportunity to plug it in yet, I will right more when I do. I am very pleased with this guitar and as usual Musicians Friend was outstanding...

I use this (as a backup to my martin D35 {sarcastically}) cause i see others saying my taylor backup, well its not a taylor my singer has one of those, and it's not a martin, i play the martin now he plays the D angelico (how's that for what this guitar sounds, plays, etc...) and since we started using it, the tips have gone up every show, before with the taylor and my other dc 16 martin, 20 - 30 in tips for a 2 hr gig. last time 80 in tips. Do you make more playing with a better guitar...sometimes you do. past couple shows same thing and for 2 guys who aren't models by any means thats not bad.

Great guitar reasonably priced, especially when on sale.

This guitar, like so many nowadays, is made in China. Surprisingly, it has a decent sound and is perfect for jamming or taking around in the car to play where ever the mood strikes you. It is a lot prettier than what is shown in the picture. It has a chocolate colored back side and neck that contrast very well with the lighter top of the body. It has a nice bright sound that which is appealing because it is in contrast to my other two acoustic guitars that are more mellow and throaty. That contrast will be interesting in my home recordings. Great deal when on sale. I can't afford the really expensive guitars and so these cheaper priced ones that sound great are really nice to have.

100% impulse buy via Stupid Deal of the day. Thought it would be an OK Chinese guitar BUT this guitar is AWESOME, totally blown away by the beautiful flawless finish and very solid construction. The guitar sounds and plays better than my much more expensive Taylor.
