Like Zakk, this new limited-edition Epiphone Graveyard Disciple will also light up a stage.

If you saw the Epiphone Zakk Wylde Graveyard Disciple Electric Guitar played by Zakk on the Peddle to the Metal tour, then you've already had a glimpse of this monster on stage. Designed by Zakk in cooperation with Epiphone, the Graveyard Disciple guitar combines killer sound with equally killer looks. Shaped like a coffin, the edges of the body are tapered and pinstriped in silver giving the guitar striking visual appearance and depth while providing for comfortable playing feel.

There's no question that Zakk Wylde is a one-of-a-kind performer and guitarist. As the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and founding leader of Black Label Society, Zakk has torched many a stage with his unique style and performances. Winner of multiple Most Valuable Guitarist awards in the metal genre, Zakk combines pure speed shredding with the use of pinch harmonics and chickin' pickin' to create a wall of sound that's second to none.

Dying to be Played: While looks are important, the Epiphone Graveyard Disciple guitar doesn't compromise in the performance department either. As with most of Zakk's guitars, the neck is made of hard maple for bright attack and glued into a solid mahogany body adding a touch of warm and, of course, sustain. The "D" profile, Slim Taper neck has a smooth, satin finish for fast and effortless lead work. Topped off with a bound ebony fingerboard and medium-jumbo frets with easy access to all 22 frets, you've got a real performance guitar that's dying to be played.

EMG Pickups and Floyd Rose Tremolo: Perfectly paired for hard rock and metal, the Graveyard Disciple guitar is equipped with a original Floyd Rose Original tremolo with EMG HZ pickups. The tremolo cavity allows for serious dive bombing as well as pull-ups. The EMG HZ-4A pickup in the bridge position is optimized for lead performance while the EMG HZ-4 pickup is specifically voiced for neck position. Designed to emulate the sound of their active counterparts (the EMG 81 and 85), these HZs are probably the quietest passive pickups available. And unlike active pickups, you never have to worry about these babies showing up dead.

Attention to Detail: Other features on the new Graveyard Disciple guitar include a multi-bound headstock with mother-of-pearl "cross" inlay, black hardware with premium 16:1 ratio Grover machine heads, mother-of-pearl topped metal knobs, Epiphone's non-rotating output jack and Zakk's signature silhouette on the back of the headstock. For added comfort and convenience while playing in the seated position, the guitar features the brilliantly designed and patented Steinberger LegRest. Fold it down and rest it on your leg. Fold it up and it practically disappears.

Premium Add-Ons: With a guitar like this, you need to carry it in style and so Epiphone graces it with a custom-made Coffin case emblazoned with Graveyard Disciple artwork. And for this limited edition guitar, you also get an Epiphone Certificate of Authenticity.

Poor Set up and Inspection

By Jim Polston

from Arizona

Comments about Epiphone Zakk Wylde Graveyard Disciple Electric Guitar:

If you buy anything from musicians friend, make sure they actually inspect it before it goes out. Dont fall for the fake discount code that does not work on their site that they have listed on the home page. Call them and demand the discount.
Smooth neck. Emg pick ups are great. Coffin case is cool and tight. The epiphone check list is a joke. The first guitar was sent back due to a crack that was caused by the tremelo system being set to close to the face of the body. Also it had 3 dents in the face of the guitar. For this being prechecked, it was eveident that they will let anything go from musicians friend and epiphone or the have a blind person doing the inspection

After spending an hour with customer support, the first guitar was sent back for a replacement. 3 Weeks later I recieved the second guitar. Epiphone will preach that their guitars are set up during inpsection. Must be the same blind guy that does the set up. Action on the 22nd fret top string was set 1/4 inch higher than the bottom string. Allen wrences and allen heads were not tightend from the factory. They were all easy to find because they were all stuck the the EMG pickups.
Great sound and action is great once you set it up. Sounded good on my marshal stack and was great to play with on Rock Smith.
I will never sell this guitar. But the ods of purchasing another guitar from musicians friend is a concern due to the customer service.

The Graveyard Disciple

By Butcher58

from SE Oklahoma

Comments about Epiphone Zakk Wylde Graveyard Disciple Electric Guitar:

I received this guitar as a birthday gift. I liked the look of the Graveyard Disciple from the first time I saw it. It's definitely a "love it or hate it" style guitar, and some folks just won't like the coffin shape. I do. It has the old cigar-box flavor, but a bit more style. I had big expectations for this guitar, and it did not disappoint. The fit, finish and playability were very good. Much better than I would expect at the price! The sound is very deep and rich. The ONLY thing I would change is to put in the active EMG's like Zakk uses. Not that the passive pickups are bad, I just would like it to be the same set up as he uses. All-in-all, awesome job Epiphone!
