OVERVIEW

An elegant model with flexible electronics and a rich voice.

Originally intended for sophisticated jazz guitarists, the Jazzmaster was quickly embraced by musicians attracted to its left-of-center looks and fat sound. A direct descendent of the guitar that powered underground music from the late-‘60s to today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is ready to lend its unique sound to your playing.

An elegant model with flexible electronics and a rich voice, the Jazzmaster’s introduction in 1958 marked the first time a rosewood fingerboard was used on a Fender instrument. This model features a maple fretboard. Thanks to its effortless playing feel and ergonomic offset- waist body, the Jazzmaster has powered infinite musical genres, including surf rock, gospel, new wave and indie rock, among others.

Developed by longtime pickup guru Michael Frank, creator of the renowned Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Pickups, the brand-new V-Mod Jazzmaster pickups kick out hot, vintage-inspired tone with plenty of punch and definition. Retain high end clarity when adjusting the volume controls, thanks to the new treble-bleed tone circuit.

The new modern “Deep C”-shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords. The improved tremolo and bridge incorporate a screw-in arm and brass Mustang saddles that stabilize the strings while adding a touch of sonic zip to your tone.

The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend. Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Fender American Professional Jazzmaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

Everybody that plays 60's thru 80's rock and hard rock is going to love this guitar. You can go from crisp clean Fender tone to hard rock chunk with good harmonics with just basic distortion. If I had to describe he sound, its kinda' between Gibson P90's and my old 60's Mustang with more fullness on the Mustang and less noise on the Gibson. It's fuller sounding than a Strat or a Tele but still has that good Fender sound. I didn't want to spend that much money but I'm glad I did. I've played it through a Bandmaster, a Champ x2, a Champion 40 and an old Tremolux. Seems like it sounds great on everything Fender. I really like the tremlo, never had one this style. I'm always adjusting my strats, messing with springs and tension. My Bigsby are always to abrupt. This things is really smooth even though it looks flimsy. It work really great and comes back to pitch every time in tune. Looks great too. I got the seafoam, I like the frets also. They don't seem to push out of tune like some tall frets do. All in all, 5 stars for the guitar and the pickups. Oh, by the way, I'm 64 and I've played a lot of different guitars since my 12th birthday.

Comments about Fender American Professional Jazzmaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

This guitar surprised me at how well it is made. I made minor adjustments and within minutes was diving into my practice routine with a tone heard from much more expensive guitars. The neck is smooth and seems more accessible than my vintage jazzmasters with only 21 frets. With the bone nut and an accurate setup, it is difficult to hear the difference between the American Professional and my '62 Jazzmaster. Overall, Fender offers a tremendous value in this one, really upped their game.

Comments about Fender American Professional Jazzmaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

This was number 26 of my collection and one of my favorites to play. It knocked my Tele Thinline Super Duluxe to the number two spot.
