OVERVIEW

One of the most desirable production Stratocaster guitars recreated to the finest detail.

One of the most popular instruments in history, the Fender Stratocaster guitar is also certainly among the most imitated electric guitars. 1957”the peak of the maple neck Strat era”was a benchmark year for the instrument, which had evolved from early incarnations into an archetype. Original details on this 1957 Fender Stratocaster Heavy Relic include three vintage-style pickups including a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickkup, five-way switching, beveled pickup magnets, ashtray bridge cover, single-ply pickguard, and Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuning machines. The '57 Fender Stratocaster comes with hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.

The Fender Custom Shop Heavy Relic treatment creates guitars that are super worn-in, like your favorite pair of jeans! They show the natural wear and tear from years of heavy use ” nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.

The Fender Time Machine Stratocaster and all Time Machine series guitars pay homage to specific years of some of our classic designs. All are built to exacting specifications of their respective vintages, including body contours and radii, neck shape, fingerboard radius, pickups and electronics. Original materials, tooling and production techniques are employed wherever possible to maintain the integrity of these Fender guitars.

Fender Custom Shop 1957 Heavy Relic Stratocaster

By Chris-HhrUN

from Somewhere over the rainbow

I bought this guitar a couple of weeks ago. I was already on the lookout for a Strat, and I had my mind set on a Custom Shop guitar. I tried a lot of Fender CS Strats with maple neck, and they were all decent, but then I found this one, in Nocaster Blonde obviously, and it sounded better than any Fender I have ever tried. It is the most "straty" sounding Strat, I have ever come across. Features: The guitar itself is of cause a remake of the original 1957 Stratocaster, which means that it is really basic and vintage, but the amount of stuff that comes with it (accessories like cables and stuff) is simply blistering. Quality: The amount of time and work, that has gone in the making of this guitar is staggering, this shows in the sound and quality. Value: Its a master team build fender custom shop guitar - they are pricy, but definitely worth it. Actually I think its a bargain, for the tone you get. Overall: Best sounding, playing, feeling and looking Fender, that I have ever laid my eyes upon. I play through cheap practice amp, when I am at home, but this guitars personality really shines through. I think that the best way to describe the tone of this guitar, would be a mix between Stevie Ray Vaughan sound, and a canadian guitarist called Colin James (check him out if you dont know him). This guitar is the essence of vintage, and the guys over at Fender CS have really captured the vintage spirit.
