This limited-edition Tele Custom features the recreation of the original Seth Lover-designed Wide-Range humbucker in the neck position. That pickup, which debuted in 1972, featured pole pieces of CuNiFe (Copper/Nickel/Iron) magnets, a hard-to-find material that helped give that pickup a unique sound. Fender has spent years finding a new source for the material and use a proprietary manufacturing method to bring back these rare and in-demand pickups.
