OVERVIEW

The unique pedigree and tone that only an all-rosewood guitar can offer.

Admired for his inspiring playing ability and songwriting prowess, George Harrison reigns as one of the premier icons in music history. To honor Harrison's venerable career, Fender created the Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster, a commemoration that embodies George's elegantly restrained playing style and sound.

Based on the original Telecaster created for Harrison by Roger Rossmeisel, this guitar remains true to its heritage with a classic look and the unique tone only an all-rosewood guitar can produce. The body is chambered for reduced weight and increased resonance; other features include a rosewood neck with a laminated 9.5 in. radius rosewood fingerboard and a custom neck plate engraved with an Om symbol.

A classic in every way, this refined instrument was born from the era that defined rock 'n' roll. George Harrison’s Legacy is one of innovation and creativity, and the rosewood Telecaster became one of his primary instruments of choice. Limited to 1,000 instruments worldwide, the George Harrison Telecaster is an homage to a master and destined to become a treasured addition to any collection. Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I collect guitars, I have a George Harrison Gretsch Duo Jet signature series guitar and a Rickenbacker 355 John Lennon signature series guitar. The Telecaster is truly a well crafted guitar, needed minimal bridge adjustment for lower action, intonation is good. Honored to have it. I guess you can figure out my musical influences from my choice of guitars. I also use Vox and Fender amps.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

The George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster delivers a warm tone and the action and feel of the guitar is extraordinary. The chrome plate on the back of the guitar has George Harrison's signature, and the Om symbol that is part of Harrison's legend. This guitar is a collector's piece; and, since there will be only 1000 produced, it will certainly increase in value through the years. Buy it, play it, but keep it in pristine condition and you will be able to sell it for double what you paid in the coming years. This guitar is unique and magnificent!

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I have always wanted a Rosewood Telecaster. My love for the Beatles and for George Harrison as a guitar player added to the desire. Once I played the guitar I realized just how iconic the tone and sound was. Fender has paid attention to all the original details of this fine instrument. With only 1000 being made I am sure I will never regret this purchase.

        Service and delivery comments:

This was a special order and Fender had a release date of Aug 22nd. Not sure how but MF delivered it a few days earlier. This is not my first purchase from MF and so far I have not been disappointed. The guitar was packed professionally and but for a few minor adjustments played great right out of its custom case.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I'm a professional touring guitar player and a guitar tech, and I get the opportunity to regularly try out some really great new and old guitars. I am however usually a little reluctant to buy a guitar without playing it first. I almost hesitated with this one because of that very reason but I am so thankful that I snagged one of these! This guitar is everything that I had hoped it would be and more. It has one of the best playing/feeling necks of any guitar I've ever owned. And THIS GUITAR IS GORGEOUS!

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I saw these listed in the August MF flier and was on the phone in about nothing flat to order one. Speed pays off because mine showed up "early". In terms of build quality, it is what you would expect from an American made Telecaster. It is a SOLID guitar. The shipping scale at the local guitar shoppe put mine at 7.6 pounds, which is lighter than I expected it to be. Tonally, this thing is spot on. No one listening described the sound as "over bright", which is the rap these guitars have carried since 1968 or so. It just sounded superb being played through a Dr Z amp (which honestly, was a pleasant surprise, given the aforementioned stories told about Rosewood Teles).

So what you have here is a seriously seriously collectible guitar that cuts no corners as far as playability goes. The finish and appearance are stunning, and the aroma when you open that case... oh my goodness. Someone needs to put that smell in a can and market the living daylights out of it. IMO, if you have the coin to plunk down on one of these, do it. I suspect it will be very difficult to lose a dime on this guitar due to the CITES impact on the availability and cost of rosewood.

Many many thanks to Musician's Friend for shipping this out promptly, as usual it showed up two days after it shipped in perfect condition.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Very nice guitar. Spent 3 days adjusting the up bowed neck to 9 thousands @ the 7th. No buzz with 4/64 string height. String radius and intonation needed adjustment. Intonation is not perfect. But what is with these types of saddles. Weight is 7lbs. 13.35 oz.. Not bad for a "solid" rosewood body. Comes with a deluxe Fender, black tolex case, with orange velour interior. Case end caps and handle are genuine leather. Comes with chrome ash tray bridge cover, in it's own leather pouch, with fender logo and interior fender logo cloth liner. Case lock keys are included. Case has metal Fender logo riveted to outside of case. That is it for case candy. The Deluxe Vintage G&G case and chrome Ash Tray cover, is THE case candy.
