OVERVIEW

Powered by a pair of chrome-covered humbucking pickups.

Powered by a pair of chrome-covered humbucking pickups, this Telecaster has a slightly thicker, deeper voice than usual, while retaining authentic Fender note clarity and articulation. Master volume and tone controls, along with a three-way blade pickup switch sculpt the pickup’s voice for titanic waves of sound that can be shaped to match any musical genre.

The comfortable modern “C”-shaped neck is comfortable during long playing sessions while the 9.5 in.-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets provides a easy, familiar playing feel that handles chords and melodic playing with ease. A 6-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge provides singing sustain along with accurate intonation and rock-solid tuning stability.

The warm, rich look of the fingerboard contrasts beautifully with the crisp Daphne Blue finish over an alder body. Other aesthetic touches include chrome hardware, skirted control knobs and a dual-wing string tree. A study in restrained elegance, the Special Edition Standard Telecaster HH is a gorgeous, luminescent addition to any player’s collection. Case sold separately.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Standard Telecaster HH Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this guitar as a want, not a need, and for the discounted price how could I go wrong, right? I watched tons of vids that did comparisons of MIM vs Americans, mid priced vs high priced, relics vs MIM, you name it and I watched it. The overall opinions were pretty consistent w/ the MIM being a great guitar for a bargain price. "You can't go wrong w/ a MIM Tele." pffffttt... the quality, and it very well may be just this guitar, was pretty poor.
First off, the nut is... how do i say this... garbage. Bending on the 2nd fret of the G string results in the string popping out of the nut EVERY time. Upon closer look, the nut grooves weren't cut deep enough for the strings to slide through. The strings (all of them) were merely resting on micro-grooves. Imagine a groove approximately 1/2 the deep of the diameter of the string. I compared this guitar's nut to my American Standard Tele's nut and it's clear that the quality of the MIM is flat out awful. Honestly, the nut isn't even level to the eye. It truly appears to be a repair, a shoddy one at that, Did anyone even attempt to play this guitar before it left the factory?
Next, I replaced the stock bridge w/ a Hipshot drop in replacement and was attempting to set the intonation... the signal kept popping in and out, so i switched pick-ups and the in and out problem went away. After completing the intonation set up, I opened the control plate... as expected, the solder job was so poor that the pick up wiring had wiggled itself loose and was hanging freely in the cavity.
That being said, I can't wait to get past these issues and play the guitar because it does feel really good in my hands. My word of caution is this, if you're buying this guitar as a primary instrument or as your first real investment in a "real" Fender, be wary. Unless you're experienced with guitar set-ups, wiring, etc you may be in for a real disappointment.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Standard Telecaster HH Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

How can you beat this for the price? Pretty hard to do, G&L has some great guitars in this price range that are excellent too, I have Fenders and a awesome G&L USA ASAT. I love them all.

Ok this guitar, setup was good, fit and finish top notch, CTS pots and USA switch and jack. I did add a PIO cap, that maybe sounds better, but maybe not. I just do It on all my guitars, a cheap upgrade.

The pickups are fine, pretty neutral sounding. Unless you are a pickup junkie, these should serve the average player just fine. It's mostly in the amp anyway people.

MF got mine to me super quick. This tele is a Frankin cheaper than the other Mexican tales in this price range, and every bit as good. It's a bargain if you are looking for an HH tele.

I just got this this guitar in the mail, was very happy with the looks I plugged and no sound, after fooling around with the pickup selector the neck pickup started to work but not the other one. I set the selector switch in middle position and again no sound, in back position and nothing it is ether a bad pick up or the selector switch . so far not good. lets see if Musicians friend will fix this.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Standard Telecaster HH Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

Good price, was on porch two days after ordered. Beautiful guitar, couldn't make up my mind on this daphine blue or seafoam green. slept on it couple days. looked them back up and the blue was 100.00 off on sale. Was an easy choice then. Pics on line do it no justice. I have 5 nice electric guitars, several acoustics, this is so fun to play. the neck is awesome, so smooth. never had a maple neck and almost looked at something different to have rosewood. So glad I went with this tele, can't imagine anything better in this price range. Love the sounds I can get from humbucks, threw all my amps.

reason only 4 star. one of the pickup adjustment screws was stripped out and had very shape edge on it and let me know as soon as I strummed it, and the wing try was twisted almost 180 degrees .over all, very satisfied with purchase.. tele also shipped w/ fender gig bag which was cool..
