OVERVIEW

High-powered pickups with the feel of a Pau Ferro fretboard.

For modern guitarists who want heavy and aggressive tone, the Standard Jazzmaster HH is an unusual take on the classic Fender model, delivering massive high-gain power and a whole new sonic personality from two Blacktop open-coil humbucking pickups with chrome/black bobbins and black bezels. Sleek and supercharged, it's built to match the intensity of any playing style, with other distinctive features including a coil-splitting push/pull switch built into the tone knob that leaves the outside coils active, a Jazzmaster floating tremolo bridge and a lean control layout. Case sold separately.

Comments about Fender Standard Jazzmaster HH Pau Ferro Fingerboard:

I love the look and feel of this guitar. The pickups sound great and the ability to spit the pickups to single coil make it very versatile. However, the bridge that comes with this guitar is trash, literally. I attempted to set this guitar up myself and was confounded by the bridge and my inability to get the intonation correct. I gave the guitar to an experienced tech and he also could not get the intonation right. The design of the bridge is awful. When moving the saddles back towards the tailpiece, the adjustment screws go up on a 45 degree angle and hit the strings causing them to "die." The top of the bridge seems to be the wrong dimension and is too high for the strings to vibrate freely. I was prepared to send this guitar back but my tech decided to get a new bridge from Stewart Mac and replace the old bridge. This guitar now plays perfect and sounds great. It's a shame that Fender compromised what is on otherwise great guitar by putting on an inferior bridge. If you don't mind having the bridge replaced, this is a great guitar.
