Special finish and electronics help modernize this classic '50s design.
When Gibson first offered the CF-100 in 1950, its first flat-top cutaway instrument, it was immediately recognized for its innovative design. The Florentine cutaway and smaller design was touted by players for making a more comfortable playing experience. Now, with the Collector's Edition CF-100E, Gibson has made it even more special by adding a P-90 pickup, with volume and tone control, and Gibson's custom Autumn Burst finish. It is constructed of Sitka spruce with hand-scalloped X-bracing paired and a mahogany body and neck, all with a nitrocellulose finish. Other key appointments include vintage-style gold open tuners, large trapezoid inlays, tortoise pickguard, and bone nut and saddle.
