Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

I purchased the purple custom pro after sitting down with several LP Standards and a Black Les Paul Custom. I wanted so badly to live the blueberry burst standard or the HP standard but this guitar blew them away. It is a bit heavier and may not pack the features however it is hand wired, has tons of sustain, feels and plays perfectly. I keep looking at LP standards when I cross paths with them to maybe get one to gig with but I can't put this one down.

It's got a bigger neck. Slightly smaller than what is typically called a 50s neck. A few file marks on the fretboard. My only qualm is that I wish the finish in the neck and the back of the body was lighter and more clear.

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

Practice only. I really wanted to love this axe, but it just isn't happening. Gibson really messed up using a low-end Headstock on such an overpriced axe. Nothing special about this at all. My 1970s Les Paul Custom in black blows doors on this mid-quality copycat from Gibson. I know why it's dropped in price, look at it and you'll figure it out. This is an utter, over-the-top Gibson fail ... period. I'll try to sell it down the road at some point in time, but I know I'll not even get what I paid for it, even in 20 years time. Steer clear and buy a better Gibson, or migrate over to Fender or something. I've always considered Gibson a top-notch outfit but no longer. Way to go losing patrons Gibson ... keep cranking out the junk.

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar. Very comfortable to play, lot to like about this one. From what I understand about this guitar from people in the know is essentially this is a les paul standard that has been dressed up by the custom shop at Gibson and not the typical Les Paul Custom model. That's why it does not have the normal pickups, binding on front and back, inlay and binding on the headstock and cost about two grand cheaper than a true les paul custom. I for one think the headstock on this one let's the guitar shine and does not detract from the beautiful finish like the flashy headstock of the custom. Also you get to look at photos before you buy to see just what your getting.

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

Had this purple burst for about a year now. This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful instruments i have ever seen in the flesh. The nitro finish is a dynamic paint job which changes color depending on the time of day. From a lavenderish hue, to a magenta at night , sometimes looks dark purple/violet, you can't imagine how many times injust sit and stare at this piece of wood. The top is a beautiful and lucious curly maple which internet sites don't state. Also details, like hand wired pickups to a premium select dark rosewood fretboard . The custom case itself
is gorgeous and has a maroon crushed velvet interior. Extremely hard to find this case online and if you do it costs about 450. This instrument is a work of art!! It has it all: Looks, Tone, Playability and versatility. This is basically a 59 custom shop standard. The neck is perfect for me , since it isn't quite as fat as a 58 fat baseball neck , but it is wider than a slim taper 60s neck. Somewhere in between , which is just perfect. The phase switch is an added nonus giving you that soulful ghostly peter green sound. Take the plunge -- you won't regret it!!

Sounded better than all custom shop les pauls r9s at 6k+ i put it up against at the shop. Has something special due to the extremely comfortable playability and bending just felt right. This purple burst has that extra bit of tone magic and playability balance you just can't put your finger on. Took me 6/7 years of going to different guitsr shops till i found this holy grail of a guitar. Don't listen to people that say " doesn have custom headstock/ 4k for a regular standard"--complete nonsense .. Thisis no ordinary standard and it plays better and has that extra bit of timbre than almost any les paul i came across. A guitar is worth much more than the sum of it's parts. Has the ability to soothe, inspire and create. It's magic and you can't put a price on it!!

Over 20 years experience and have been an instructor for over 12 years.

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

This is my first Gibson.. I've always had a 52 Reissue Tele. There is simply nothing quite like the sound of my Tele. Even as I play my new Gibson, It will never take the place of my Tele. That being said, I have never played a guitar with such low action that you literally don't even have to push on the strings and the note plays as clean as can be. The power and the range of tone this guitar has is awesome. Play soft and its beautiful.. Play hard and it gets much louder and has a wonderful natural distortion. I love the Phase switch.. What an amazing alternate sound that is very usable. I looked over the entire guitar with a fine tooth comb and cant find a single flaw. The chrome Grover tuning machines are the smoothest machines I have used on any guitar or bass. They turn like silk and the strings just climb slowly into tune! Perfect ratio. I will have this beautiful instrument for the rest of my life. No need to ever upgrade beyond this.

This is a piece of art!! The purple burst is my favorite les paul of all-time. Simply unmatched tone machine with superb playability and balance.. Love the 59 custom neck carve , which is somewhere between a 58 baseball bat and 60s slim taper. I am in Heaven!!

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Pro Electric Guitar:

I have always been a Fender guy who wanted a Les Paul. My hold up was my fear that it would feel/sound too differently from my Strat. When this purple beauty came in I was stunned at the quality of workmanship and great sound of this instrument. Love it and I'm very pleased with my decision to take the Gibson plunge.
