With a strategic blend of time-tested, hand-built construction methods and forward-thinking design, Gibson's Modern models, like this J-45 Modern Walnut acoustic-electric guitar, are pure Gibson, with a domed top and back, hand-fitted dovetail neck joint, a hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer finish and artistic craftsmanship. Each J-45 Modern Walnut model also features their Advanced Response carved neck, slimmer body and flatter fingerboard, perfect for the transitioning electric player. This version of "The Workhorse" comes with a player-friendly cutaway for no-nonsense upper fret play and soundhole-mounted L.R. Baggs VTC pickup with volume control. Not only does it feature a walnut body for excellent balance, but the Sitka spruce top features a Walnut Burst which gives it a more timeless appearance.
