The classic American-made J-45 now with an Englemann spruce top and L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup.
The J-45 is undoubtedly one of the most successful, professional acoustic guitars in the world. Perfectly balancing timeless design and one of the most celebrated tonal voices of any acoustic guitar, the Tonewood Editions have raised the bar, setting a new standard of what a true hand-built acoustic guitar should look and sound like.
This limited edition Tonewood Edition is a celebration of the J-45 Standard, Gibson’s best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed, "The Workhorse," and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection, this Tonewood Edition continues the renowned J-45 sound with a stunning Englemann spruce top and rosewood back and sides. Englemann spruce produces a more complex and rich tonal range with beautiful overtones. It has been upgraded with an L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup system with Volume and Tone for superior natural tone when amplified, and gold open back tuners. Limited to only 75 hand-built instruments from the Gibson Acoustic Shop in Bozeman, Montana.
