The JJ11 is hands down the finest of the affordable hotrods.Mine was a pawn shop hider, unbeleivible neck and action. The sound is undeniably Gretsch and what a fabulous finish in all black with pearl pick gaurd.I also own Takamine hi end and fender frankinstrat which are very nice but hands down,..the JJ11 is out of the bag, butcha better hurry cause they may not last at this price.

When I tried this guitar out, The first thing that I noticed was its weight. It was way heavier than I like, I use a epiphone les paul and a epihone dot on stage. But if you want a great value, get a dean MLX, they're in the same price range and they dont hum, like the gretsch does, the gretsch name is legendary but if you want a gretsch quality gretch, you are going to have to throw down a couple more bills.

Amazing value for money

By BobD

from Ashington,Northumberland,UK

I was looking for a cheap spare guitar but wanted something a little different.Came across this beaut of a guitar in a small music shop, noticed it was a Gretsch and that was it.I had to double check the sale price because I couldn`t believe it was so cheap. I play in a regular gigging band and use the JJII all the time.I`ve had a lot of positive comments from folks at gigs about the look and sound of the guitar.Get one now,as was said above, before they realise they have the wrong price on this baby.

A Great Value!!!

By new_Gretsch_fan

I was looking for an inexpensive Les Paul style guitar with humbuckers, and decided on this one. I am very happy with the result. The neck is nice, very playable. The TV Jones pickups have a good, unique tone. It sounds good with my gear, Vox Tonelab / Fender HotRod Deluxe. Definitely brighter than regular humbuckers. When I got it, I changed the strings, and found that the setup was actually pretty good. I did not have to adjust the neck truss rod, or the bridge. I gave the 3 rating because the tuners could be better, and the pickups are a little noisy, maybe some shielding would help, but not noisy enough to be problematic. Also, the tone knob does not really start to change the tone until it reaches 50% or less... a quirk I don't mind. I ordered the all black version, and it arrived in perfect condition, it looks great, and the guitar is solid. Well worth the money.

great sounding little

I own a strunal acoustic, a squire strat and a dobro steel and this jet is the best!. I got this guitar as a replacement for an epiphone dot. The jet has a great neck and a pretty decent sound and if your looking for a nice cheap guitar you should buy one of these. All of jets are real nice.

A wish come true...

I've fantasized about this guitar for about two years and I finally got the guts to save my money and buy it... Right out of the box it came almost completely setup! The action is a little high and I have a buzz on my low E string but the killer sound from the pickups is awesome and could come from nowhere else but a Gretsch. And let me say this: picture does not do this guitar justice! It is one of the best looking sunbursts ever! And the chrome really shines on this guitar! And keep in mind that this guitar is only like $280.

It blows

By midfieldmorris17

from Maine

Where do I start. If you're looking to move around on stage this guitar is very heavy. The input jack on mine came loose and shaky. It almost cracked my amp. If you are buying one plug it in as soon as you get it. If you hear some humming take it in right away to get the input fixed. The humbucker was also loose and I had to replace it. I somewhat blame the retailer for the majority of these problems but still there are better deals out there.

Really Basic

This is a good guitar if you are just starting to play and want a decent electric guitar. I find that the pickups buzz, the lack for separate volume and tone pots for each PUP doesnt suit me at all. The strings will vibrate on the frets if you dont get it setup and the bridge is a pain to re string. DO NOT play this giutar for any gigs your audience will be dissapointed with the sound

Great Value

By copterdoc

I just bought this guitar and overall I am very pleased with it. I had to get the intonation adjusted because as it would not stay in tune. I also put a set of Fender Bullet strings on it and now it sounds and plays like a dream. I plan on putting a set of Grover tuners on it, the ones on it now don't adjust very well and it still goes out of tune very easily. If you are looking for a good guitar at a great price this is the one! But by all means put some good strings on it. I play it through a Marshall MG30DFX amp and the sound and effects are awesome. Buy one, you won't be dissapointed

A Sweet Surprise

By Shoe-pOMQ2

from St. Louis,Mo.

I have been playing guitar for 45 yrs now.I have to admit I was a bit sceptical about the Junior Jet for the price. But, I have to admit it is an awesome guitar for the money! Right out of the box the intonation was spot on, so all it took was a new set of strings and it came to life. The fit and finish were as good as any I have seen, and I`ve seen plenty. I ordered mine in sunburst and the pics on MF don`t do it justice, its beautiful. Buy this one now, before they figure out they have an awesome lil axe. The only negative I have found is there is no case to fit this one, only a gig bag ,which is not good for me. I play out all the time and a gig bag sucks for protection.

Great.

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I have had this guitar for a few years and I love it. It sounds amazing. This guitar is the best out there in the price range hands down. It is great for beginners and I love it. I was choosing between this guitar, an Ibanez same price, and a les paul same price, and this guitar blew them both away. I would urge anyone looking for an awesome guitar for cheap to get this guitar.

Versatile Guitar

I am completely impressed with this guitar. The neck is a little wider than a Les Paul or Strat but the sound truly makes up for it. The pick-up volume is fantastic and almost twice that of my Ibanez AX120 and my Squire Strat. The sound is incredible! You can copy a Les Paul and Strat perfectly and even get the mellow blues sound of a large bodied hollowbody. The finish is flawless and you can literally see yourself in the shine. Ready to play and even stilled TUNED after shipping, right out of the box. You will not be disappointed in this instrument...just amazed at the incredible variation of sound!

This is an amazing guitar

By Old and Gray Dead Head

After retiring from the live music scene many years ago, I sold off all my equipment including my Gibson SG and LP and ny Gretsch Tennesean. I only kept my Gibson J45. The one I really hated to let go was the Tennesean. Kids, college, and mortgage took priority though. Last year at a garage sale I bought a Kramer Strat copy w/ some no name amp for $40 on a whim. It only whetted the appetite for a much better guitar. I visited some of the local music stores and got a major dose of sticker shock. A Les Paul or SG similar to ones I had bought new for 2-4 hundred were now 2-4 thousand! I had almost resigned myself to an Epi clone and was ready to buy until I saw the sunburst Jet hanging on the wall back in the corner. After seeing it was a Gretsch I had to try it out first. As soon as plugged it in and hit a G chord, I put it down and had the salesman write it up. This thing plays like a dream. The action is superb. Low string height, no fret buzzing, and Gretsch sound! The finish rivals $2000 Gibson and Fenders. The chrome really sparkles. I've had it now close to a year and still have no complaints. I gave it a 4.5 on features only because I would prefer volume and tone controls for each pickup. If you are in the market for an LP type guitar, you absolutely must put the Jet on top of your list.

What a bargain!

By Gretsch4life

from Bloomington IN

I just received this beautiful guitar and let me tell you, it's way more than I expected for the price. Out of the box it was ready to plug and play. The finish is flawless and the sound and feel are something you would expect from a much more expensive piece. I own a 1996 Strat that I love but I wanted an inexpesive guitar that I could use strictly for practice. After playing this beauty I wouldn't be afraid to play gig after gig with it. For the money, this is a great guitar with a distinctingly amazing sound. If youre in the market for an inexpensive guitar with great feel and sound you've found it.

Excellent Guitar

By gretschman

from Minnesota

This is a great guitar, I would highly recommend it. The great Gretsch sound doesn't get any better for this value. The finish is unbelievable, and the mini humbuckers scream. Beats the hell out of my old Epiphone SG. I was skeptical of the price and quality, but I can honestly say once I've gone Gretsch I'm not going back. The only thing I'm not really used to is the high frets, and when doing a barre chord on the first fret, the high E# doesnt make a sound, just a little buzzing noise, but I assume that can be easily remedied by a luthier.

Good guitar

By Jon Simmons

Over all great guitar forthe guy who likes to mod things!
I bought it hoping for a decent guitar, well I was mistaken, it is a great guitar with certain mods. I am A p-90 ,fan so out went the stock pickups in went a set 0f P-90's and upgraded tuners. I really like the neck, feels great, the frets are just right. I then added a Bigsby 5. I want to get a few more of them to to mod and play.
