Needed a new stage Acoustic, but didn't have a grand to spend. went through the guitars. This one stood WELL above the crowd, and was much less expensive than I expected.Absolutely major sound both acoustically and through the sound board. I used to use a SansAmp to a reasonable sound for the folks. Not any more. The low Z 3 pin out makes things great. I connect to the snake using a standard mic cable, and both the guitar and the board run flat. it just sounds wonderful out front. Small body style makes it easy to handle, and playability was quite good right out the box (although a little shaving of the nut and bridge made it MUCH better). The onboard tuner is reasonable for most situations, but I still check it with a real tuner. The onboard Phase Shift is kinda' hokey and doesn't offer much. But no harm, no foul.Neck plays straight and true, and no buzzes even though the action was lowered to almost Solid Body Electic levels. At 370 clams, this may well be the best value of any guitar I have ever seen. Honestly, I don't know how Ibanez makes any $$$.

This is one of the prettest guitars that I have ever seen. Plugged or unplugged this guitar sounds great. To have a thin of a body as it does it stills has a pretty deep sound. I recomend this guitar to anybody from beginners to pros.

Magnificent

By Yellow Card

I went to the music store just to look with no intention of buying a new guitar. I picked up a few Gibsons and Fenders and played those and they were great. I saw this one and was stuck by its crazy beauty so I just had to give it a strum. After playing it for just a minute I didnt care how much it was I had to have it. I grabbed it for $290 and a hard case for another $80 I have to say that its the best sound and feel I have ever experiences with an Acoustic guitar it even beats out my 1966 Gibson Hummingbird. Enough said right? I have yet to plus it in, but am so anxious to do so after reading these reviews. I recommend this guitar for any level of play! This guitar needs no improvements its perfect just the way it comes!!!

I own this guitar

By Beth

and play out quite often both by myself and with a band. The sound for this is great both acoustically and electric. The highs and lows are matched well. I was worried when I first got it that the sound was going to be a bit tinny since it is a bit narrower but it sounds great! Its easy to chord... almost as easy as my electric so for both a beginner or professional...you can't beat it. Do watch the "phase" button when you plug in..it makes a big difference in the lows.

Wow

By Wow!

Wow, this is the first guitar I've bought in 15 years. My old guitar (a classical Yamaha APX6N) had seen better days and I wanted an accoustic with metal strings. It was down to this one or a Fender.I bought this one. Wow, all my fears were for nothing. This Guitar Is awsome. It has the playability of of a classical, and talk about sound. I can't stop saying ,Wow! It sounds great plugged or unplugged.I've had mine for 6 months NOW. I perform with it live and it is like playing air. The action and the wider neck make fingering smooth. The Fishman Electronics are great. Everything is designed for ease of use. Batteries are accessed from the out side, there is a phase switching button, and a shape slider along with a 3 band eq.I campared it to the more expensive guitars for 6 months and this one kept coming out on top.

Great for all players

By Sand506

from Cheyenne, WY

I bought this guitar based on how it felt. I like the shallow body and the thinner neck. I had not been playing long so this was a good thing for me. As i progressed i still find it nice, more like an electric feel. When plugged in it sounds great, whether into a sound system or amp. Hooked it into an amp with built in effects and it was like playing an electric. I did have problems with it playing through the sound system at first with regular batteries. I switched to rechargeable batteries and have not had any further problems.

If you want an acoustic/electric that plays well and is reasonable in price. you've got to wrap your fingers around the Ibanez AES10E. The on board tuner is a great feature too. Unplugged or patched in the sound is crisp and clear. Im glad I made the choice with the Ibanez.

Really Good Guitar

By StratMan420-VOsI.

See all my reviews

I have owned this guitar for about a year and I have to say that I am totally satisfied with my purchase. The lows are really deep but still crisp and the highs are bright and clean, although some of the mids are so-so. The neck is what really stands out about this guitar. A lot of people say that the acoustic is harder to play than the electric, but the neck on this is so thin and easy to slide around on, I'm not sure that this is true with this guitar. My only complaint is that after about six months the electronics system/tuner gave out, and I took it to a professional who said he couldn't fix it and I would have to get a new one. I already installed an aftermarket pickup though, so it wasn't a problem for me, but could be for anyone who isn't planning on dishing out another $100-200 for another pickup of their own. Don't let this keep you from buying one though, I'm sure with Ibanez's reputation this doesn't happen often.

I wanted something that would sound good for recording and wasn't too expensive. This guitar has a nice, solid feel to it. When I took it out of the box and held it, it just felt right. It sounds fine acoustically. Plugged into an amp or direct in to recording software, its very faithful to its bright, acoustic sound. No extra room noise or anything like that transmitted as with some cheaper electric-acoustics. Batteries were already in and the on-board tuner had me tuned up and playing within minutes. The EQ sliders work nicely too. One last thing. It's a beautiful guitar to look at and it is artfully crafted.

Amazing.

If your looking to buy a new Elec./Acous. guitar then I definently suggest this baby. It was a surprise for me as a holiday present and let me say, I was dumbfounded by its beauty. She sounds like a charm. Its solidly built, and the feeling I get when I play something like "Yellow Ledbetter" or anything like that is amazing because of its rich full sound. buy this guitar.

I love it

By Shane-5llvg

I haven't been playing long but this guitar is great. It's so easy to chord, and has beautiful sound. My dad is an amazing guitar player and had a les paul gibson at one time. He said this guitar has as good a sound as the electric he has now. I would highly recommend this especially for beginners because it is one of the easiest acoustic guitars to chord that I've seen. It can't be beat for the price

IBANEZ rox

By Max-F0jTt

from Wilmette, IL

I bought this guitar and I started playing it the second I opened it out of its cardboard box. I used the onboard tuner to get it in tune, couldn't have been more accurate. When I played it, I was amazed at how sweet and pure the sound was. I had expectations that were low because it is an acoustic-electric and usually they don't have the best sound when played acoustically, I was blown away by the sound though. This is a must have for any guitarists. It is totally worth the money. The only thing about it though, is that it looks alot bluer in the picture than it is. It is a lot darker. But it is still blue. IT ROX!!!

Excellent Guitar for the money

By fretnut71

from Chicago, IL

I have had this guitar for over 6 months now and I really love it. The pre-amp presence setting really allows me to thicken the sound. Unplugged the guitar does not have a lot of depth in sound, due to the body being very thin. Plugged in it sounds great. I play through an Acoustic AB50. The action was very high from the factory, but that was fixed by having the guitar set up properly. I recommend this guitar.

Great Guitar no matter what your experience

By Guitar-Guy-Adam

This is a great guitar. I have owned it for roughly four years now. It has held up great. The highs sound beautiful and the lows aren't really that strong, but it still gets out what it needs to. A great guitar for any player!

Beginners Love

By lilsunshine711

from Pensacola, FL

I am an aspiring singer and have always wanted to be able to strum a guitar and sing to the tune. I got this guitar for my birthday and I love it! It is so much easier to play than the Ibanez I previously had that was much older. It sounds great and it seems so much easier to play! I can't wait to further my learning on it! The overall look of the guitar is breath-taking when you take it out of the box! I didn't give it a 10 for the sheer fact that I haven't played many other guitars... but so far so good! I couldn't be more happy with it!
