OVERVIEW

Old-school style meets modern performance.

As evidenced by its long-standing association with such giants of jazz guitar as George Benson, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield, Ibanez has been a constant pioneer in the world of hollow-body guitar building for more than three decades. Part of that legacy is owed to the Artcore collection, which has succeeded in smashing any and all preconceptions in its wake as to what a great hollow or semi-hollow ought to be. The Artcore formula builds on equal parts luthiery know-how, daring design, and a passion for warm, full-bodied tone.

The AF75T features a select-grade maple top, back, and sides. The fretboard is warm, bound Rosewood, contrasted by brilliant acrylic block inlays. The Artcore Mahogany neck has proven its reliability on thousands of Ibanez hollow and semi-hollow bodies throughout the years. The old school Vintage vibrato adds country and rockabilly nuances to the rich tone of a full-hollow guitar, but eliminates “old school” tuning problems using 21st century roller saddles. Ibanez designed the Classic Elite pickups to give you big, full tone and well-balanced output. Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AF series AF75T hollow body electric guitar:

I have the red one, and it's my second Ibanez Artcore. I have the same thing to say about both: great build quality, stunning looks, very fun to play, but the stock ACH pickups were dull and lifeless. However, looking at the specs now, I see that Ibanez is not longer using those awful pickups and is now using the Classic Elite pickups. What this means is that the only bad thing I had to say about these guitars has been fixed. The Bigsby-ish vibrato works great, and is slightly more reactive than a Bigsby. Used reasonably, tuning stability is not a problem. It's light, well-balanced, and fun to play. The only weird thing is the location of the pickup selector switch - it's right beneath where the vibrato bar would normally rest. I might consider drilling a new hole in the body somewhere and moving it, but really, it's no big deal. I dig this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AF series AF75T hollow body electric guitar:

I have had my AF-75T for 10 years now. I have lots of guitars...but this and my Tele are my go to axe's for gigs.

The tone of this thing is magic. I run it through an orange Dual Terror 30W tube amp, into a vintage laney quad. It does everything I want it to. We play all kinds of music....our original stuff is pretty Punk, but our covers are very Rock....and it handles the genre well.

Being hollow body, feedback can be an issue...I see it as an asset, as I can use this when I need it. It's all about knowing your gear.

The build quality on this guitar is amazing. I'm not loaded, and when buying a new guitar, I wanted to get it right. I played Epiphone, Gibson, Gretch, and a few no-name brands, and nothing compared to the playability and quality of this unit. I love it...still....after 10 years.

I do notice, that it's changed a little since mine was released. The inlay in my neck is much finer and more detailed. The pups in mine are pretty hot, which I like. I played a mates newer version, and it wasn't as bitey.

The only thing that bugs me is the floating bridge. You gotta replace strings one at a time, or mark on the body where the bridge is, as it's held on by the strings. I know why they did it, this way. It's makes your adjustment options endless in terms of intonation. But once you have it right....don't move it!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AF series AF75T hollow body electric guitar:

Had this guitar for a couple years. It's a solid guitar that plays well once it's had a proper setup. Hardware is all good and works as it should. Tuners are actually pretty decent and it stays in tune as well as you can expect from guitar with a floating bridge and a "Bigsby". I got it because I wanted a cheap quiet acoustic that I could plug in now and then as well as leave it out all winter while my other guitars are tucked away in their humidified cases. Acoustic sound is not great as expected, but you shouldn't buy this guitar if you're looking for a great sounding acoustic. Once you plug it in, it sounds fairly good with the stock pickups. You can always swap them out if you want something better.

It's not the guitar of your going to take to the studio, nor is the guitar of anyone's dreams. It is a great guitar to throw around the house and not worry about. Something you can beat on, leave out all winter, and not feel like you're playing a piece of junk.
