A solid-topped classical cutaway that gets your sound out there with precision electronics!

The Ibanez G850ECENT nylon string guitar combines innovative design and traditional materials with a soft cutaway body for complete fretboard access, and advanced electronics. Features include a solid cedar top on a mahogany body for a warm, yet assured tone, rosewood fretboard and bridge, mahogany binding, mosaic design rosette, and gold open gear tuning machines with stylish black knobs. The G850ECENT guitar gives you the features and playability to perform variety of modern musical genres with confidence.

The Ibanez G850ECENT is ready for both any venue, acoustic and electric, with an ultra thin B-Band UST (under-the-saddle) pickup and the B-Band A5 Preamp with an onboard tuner. The B-Band UST pickup has a wide dynamic range and reproduces original tones without affecting the instrument acoustically. The B-Band A5 preamp is designed for the guitarist who takes a more straightforward approach to their sound and wants more EQ possibilities. Easy to view and use slider controls are used for the volume and the 4-band EQ. Rotary feedback controls, notch depth and frequency, differentiate the control field for less control error. Nestled between the rotary knobs there are a phase switch and a low battery LED. Operates on a standard 9-volt battery.

This guitar sounds better and is a whole lot cheaper than my other top of the line classical guitars (cordoba, ramirez, Etc.) Beautiful sound, quality, for a whole lot less.

Good classical

I bought this after owning a Ibanez GA5 model. I had high hopes for the 850 and at first I was disappointed with the sound. There really is a break in period for the wood to air out and the guitar is sounding better with age, I maintain 50-60% humidity. It's well made for a Chinese guitar, compared with my Taylor it's cheesy, but sound quality is on par with most classical guitars out there at any price. I play this guitar for most everything now and my other guitars stay in their cases most of the time. Nylon string guitars have a very rich, warm and pleasing tone quality that is addicting. The B Band under saddle pickup is as good as any but it looses allot of the signature nylon string sound when amplified. Miking is about the only way to get the true sound of classical guitars in my experience. If you can afford it buy a Taylor or top of the line Made in Japan Takamine classical guitar, if not you won't be sorry you got the Ibanez to play while you save for a true guitar.
