Ibanez has decades of accrued knowledge in being at the forefront of the evolution of guitar-making, and with their new Ibanez AZ224BCG featuring a bocote top, American basswood body back and ergonomic body back contour, the tradition continues. The Ibanez AZ series features all the tried and tested Ibanez qualities, including a smooth oval neck grip, well-balanced asymmetrical body shape and a neck heel that allows unrivaled playability.
 
With the Ibanez AZ224BCG’s body back contour and big forearm contour, it makes the guitar body fit the player naturally, and therefore increases comfort while playing. The Ibanez AZ body also makes it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions with a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve. 

The Ibanez AZ224BCG has a roasted maple neck that’s been heat-treated to increase the wood’s stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The Ibanez AZ224BCG electric guitar also features a roasted maple fretboard that’s been heat-treated to help it provide a well-balanced note attack and tone with rich sustain. To achieve ultimate comfort in the neck grip, Ibanez finished the fretboard edge with a smooth curve. In addition, players will enjoy increased playability and ease of access to the highest frets with Ibanez’s Super All Access neck joint.

In addition to the heat-treated maple fretboard, the Ibanez AZ224BCG features stainless steel frets to give you excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret type also offers a quick response, great articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes. The Ibanez AZ224BCG is also outfitted with luminlay side dot position marks, which make it easier to see where you’re at on the fretboard when performing on darkly lit stages. 

The Ibanez AZ224BCG is equipped with Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, which feature a moderate output through alnico 5 magnets, which retain the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distorted sound and deliver a clear pick attack. In addition, the dyna-MIX9 offers nine sound variations and can easily switch between humbucker and single-coil modes with just the mini switch. The T1502 tremolo bridge, developed in collaboration with Gotoh, features steel saddles and a die-cast zinc tremolo block for a quick response and improved articulation. The additional 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings to enable techniques such as string skipping and hybrid picking.

With the Ibanez AZ224BCG, you also get Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads, which have an established reputation for tuning stability. Additionally, the H.A.P (height adjustable post) system allows for the adjustment of string posts, which helps to ensure the appropriate tension of each string.
