The combination of mahogany and Sitka has been one of the most popular sounds in a player's arsenal of instruments from the Martin Guitar Co. This popular combination has been enhanced with the Grand Performance body, and electronics, to offer an instrument that is both contemporary in playability and feel, and vintage in tone.
The onboard Aura VT Enhanced pickup has a very accurate reproduction of the source instrument. In addition, the Enhanced feature picks up the sound of the transverse waves, as they pass through the body. Adding this pickup to the tone 'fattens" up the sound and transmits the sound from the top, making it perfect for tappers.
