Things I liked:
- Playability : The neck shape, neck finish, nut width, radius, and fret size are just perfect for my hands.
- Setup was perfect out of box : To me, the action and intonation couldn't be better.
- Comfortable size : This is my first non-dread size guitar, and I'm happy that I chose this size. I really didn't know that 000 would be this much more comfortable.
- The included hard shell case is pretty nice.
- The built-in Fishman Sonitone UST pickup was not too bad - sounded better than I expected. it's not that quacky. it's totally usable on stage. I would suggest to try it before replacing it. Some people might like the sound.

Things I didn't like:
- low volume
- low bass response

I replace the tusq saddle with a bone saddle. I also replaced the UST pickup with K&K pure mini pickup. I'm satisfied with what I have now.

If available, I highly recommend to try GPRS1 instead of 000RS1. They are almost identical except the body depth. GP is slightly deeper than 000, hence it makes up for the disadvantages of 000 listed above.

I just ordered one of these, and I was shocked at how poorly these are made. They do have a "toy like" feel to them, they are poorly constructed, and the setup was absolutely terrible. I have an Ibanez that I paid 199 for, and it has a better sound than this guitar.

I have always loved Martin guitars, but I have tried several of these lower priced Martins in stores as well, and it really seems that the quality control of the Mexican guitars is really suffering.

I went to 2 different GC stores near me, and in both locations the guitars were of similar quality.

Buyer beware - these are not anywhere near "ready to play" out of the box.

The "Select Hardwood" neck gives this guitar a toy-like texture. It is an embarrassment to call this a Martin and the higher pricing of these instruments in general are very discouraging

Comments about Martin Road Series 000RS1 Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great Guitar. I was reluctant to but a Mexican Martin but the American made Martins were over budget for me. So I gave this a try and I'm so glad I did. This is a Great Guitar. Keeps perfect tune for days. The action is low smooth and easy. The sound is great. It plays, sounds, and looks Beutiful. The build quality is superb. Comes with a real nice hard shell case. And it's got a pick up in it. I can't say enough how pleased I am with this guitar. I play it everyday for several hours. I'm definitely a Martin fan now. I'll probably pick up an American Martin someday but for now I'm completely happy with this guitar.

Comments about Martin Road Series 000RS1 Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

From America to Zeppelin, and anything acoustic between, this guitar will do it. Nice, nice, nice! Fit, finish, and feel are excellent. Amplified or not, the balance and tone is superior to many guitars selling for hundreds more. I opened the hardshell case, tuned it and played it. Stayed in tune, fretting was easy, sound is deep and natural. I can find no faults. The hardshell case that comes with this guitar at this price point is a bonus. I highly recommend for any and all guitar players.

Comments about Martin Road Series 000RS1 Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Well made, if rather plain looking. I have come to understand that mahogany (or cousin sapele) tends to be, or needs to be thicker than a similar spruce top. In any case this guitar seems to be quite stiff in sound, not very resonant, which is surprising for all solid wood. Maybe it will "open up" in some months/years but not that patient. Maybe it was just my particular guitar, dont know.
I will say that the Sonicore pickup which is used by many companies, seems to sound better in this one, rather than in another guitar which had more eq control. Perhaps the tight construction works well with the placement of the piezo, so i was surprised that i liked the plugged in sound better than unplugged. Go figure.

its a really nice looking guitar, easy to play due to its smaller size.
great fingerpicker due to its 1.75 nut width.
specs say 1.69 on this site, but it is in fact 1.75.
                    great mellow sound.

Comments about Martin Road Series 000RS1 Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The 000RS1 is a steal for the price, an all solid Sapele body with a hardwood neck. The set-up was as close to perfect as can be. The guitar is shipped with a Martin hard case. It sounds amazing after about 2 weeks of playing I can hear the changes in the sound of it, it's opening up a bit. I am particularly lucky because the pattern of the Sapale on the top is quite exotic looking. My advice, buy this guitar it sounds and looks like a much more expensive Martin.

I GASSED hard for a "new" Martin after experiencing the Martin Factory Tour in Nazareth PA. Then after researching and playing a few to find the right model for me, I stumbled across the 000-15M Street master.

Needless to say, that is truly amazing. So, I did more reading up, and found out that it's closest comparison was this 000-RS1. SO, I played them back to back, and I couldn't justify a Six Hundred Buck price difference.

And after learning all about Martin's Mexico Family, I jumped all over it. Such a great fit, feel, quality, etc. all around.

I bought this from a local music store. There have been some weary comments most recently about build quality - I'm guessing I just got one of the better builds. Perfectly set-up, played immediately next to guitars costing 2-3x as much money and has slightly less volume but equal sustain and quality of sound. Intonation is great throughout the neck. For the size, the sound is much larger than expected. I didn't want to like this guitar but ended up leaving with it and feeling good about it. FYI, I am upgrading from a seagull s6 which I had for 10 years.

I finally bought myself a Martin. I'm really a bass player by trade, so I never spent any real money on An acoustic guitar. Then I saw this. My wife said to buy it is an early Christmas present… And I did! This is the finest acoustic guitar I have ever played. It's been used for recording and for live outdoor performance, as well as for intimate house concerts. Perfect for all. Oh sure, I've played Taylor's, and I've played Ovations,, and I've played a bunch of other Martin's. This is the one. It's like it was made for me right out of the box. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. It makes me sound like I know what I'm doing. Do yourself a favor … Buy this guitar!

Comments about Martin Road Series 000RS1 Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Focused sound, especially midrange and highs. First class workmanship. My only small beef is that Martin does not include the long allen wrench that is required to adjust the truss rod.

This is an amazing guitar for the price. The craftsmanship is flawless. It plays just like the higher end american made guitars. The action is low, the tone is sweet and the intonation is perfect. It's very easy to play. Try one if you don't believe me, you'll end up taking it home.

The only reason I didn't give 5-stars is because I feel the Fishman pickup is a bit "edgy"...not warm like the sound of the wood on this guitar. You can always EQ an amp/direct line, but when recording its apparent the pick up isn't perfect.
Love the guitar. Martin nailed it...again!

Been playing for many years. Taylor 700 series, but this Martin shines. It is such a good instrument for such a good price. You cannot go wrong with this guitar, the sound is full and rich.
