Comments about ESP LTD Viper-10 Electric Guitar:
The build quality is good. The bolt-on neck is solid, the frets were a little rough but not sharp, the hardware was solid. The electronics are decent but will have to be replaced within a year if played regularly. The tuning pegs are really good for a guitar in this price range. The frets feel like a medium jumbo, not the extra jumbo on their higher priced guitars. The pickups are decent - good for a beginner, but those who have been playing a while will probably want to change them. The neck pickup sounded pretty good, though. It was easy to set the truss rod and intonate. The neck is thick like a Gibson neck, not like other ESP/LTD necks.I set this up for a student and I can really say it's solid for the price. The bolt-on neck is really decent, the guitar resonated and sustained well after adjusting the pickup height. The frets really needed to be polished, but for working on chords it's no big deal. A really good beginner guitar and, with some spit and polish, wouold make a decent practice or backup guitar.
