OVERVIEW

(Open Box) Popular stripped-down LP in traditional style with gold hardware.

The 2016 Les Paul Studio T with Gold Hardware is ideal for the serious guitarist who wants a great performer, but needs to stay within budget. This year's model is available with a carved maple top over a weight-relieved mahogany body in a wide selection of cool colors, all in a thin, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The exclusive finishing process is labor intensive and isn't just about looks, but helps define this model's exceptional tone.

The neck features Gibson's traditional nut width that players love and a thicker, one-piece rosewood fingerboard that offers better feel and sustain. All Les Paul models this year come with a self-lubricating Graph Tech nut that helps in tuning and lets strings return to pitch following heavy string bending. Electronics feature Gibson' popular 490R and 498T humbuckers with alnico magnets for rich, singing tones in all positions.

Traditional manual tuners add a vintage vibe while providing smooth and efficient performance. Set up at the factory by experts, the 2016 Les Paul Studio T is ready for immediate action and comes in a traditional brown hardshell case.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

after receiving my "open box" les paul in the mail, i noticed the packaging was very well done. however, the guitar was in desperate need of a set up. also the frets were old looking almost stained. so after a truss rod adjustment, fret polishing, and fretboard oil, this guitar plays like the legendary les pauls that i've been lucky to play but reluctantly hand back to their respected owners. the brilliant red finish and chrome hardware looks mean!

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

I finally decided to go ahead and buy one. Now I'm wishing I had done it years ago. Plays well, sounds great, and looks awesome. If you don't have the cash to buy one save your money, do not settle for something less is all I can say.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

Just took delivery of my 2016 Studio T in Pelham blue. This guitar is amazingly gorgeous, the creamy colors with the blue and gold knobs just make this guitar pop. It definitely reminds me something you would have seen in the 50's. It was pretty much setup perfectly right out of the case, only thing I had to do was some minor tuning of the strings. The neck profile is great and a pleasure to play on. My only complaint for this guitar would be the weight. I had a 2016 Faded Studio T and there is definitely a huge weight difference, my Faded Studio T weighed approximately 6.5lbs using the modern weight relief. The weight difference bothered me to the point that I put my new 2016 Studio T on a digital scale and sure enough it weighed 8lbs and a few ounces. Weighing in .20 ounces less than my 2003 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus. Feeling disappointed with this fact but again that is my only complaint.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

I was very happy to get a Les Paul Studio again as I had to sell my old one about 8 years ago. I bought the Inverness Green model and it is absolutely beautiful and well worth the money. I have other guitars including an Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty and a Gibson SG but there is no substitute for the tone and feel that one gets from a real Gibson Les Paul.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

About 9 years ago, I passed my 1978 LP Deluxe Cherry Burst down to my son. I was not using it in any of my projects and it was just too heavy for me to gig with. He had dubbed it "Excalibur" and it is now his. I have been mainly playing Telecasters, a PRS briefly, and several Grestch models. But sometimes you just need a Paul. I had been eyeing the 2018 Tribute Gold Top for a few months. As I was ready to pull the trigger I noticed this 2016 Studio with coil tap and the same 490 / 498 PU configuration on a blemished sale for less than the Tribute. I had read some of the cons on the tribute that stated that fret ends were not finished completely etc.... This model from 2016 indicated a PRO set up and thicker rosewood slab fretboard so I took a chance.
First of all...nice packaging and shipping by MF. 2nd..... I'll be hanged if I can find the scratches that were supposed to be on this guitar. Not a one. So that is cool.
3rd..... very happy over all. I haven't had a ton of time with it yet but fit and finish, and the frets are great. No dead spots I can find. Not bad considering it's spent most of its life years sitting around in a box.
The case is the standard plush lined Gibby brown one.
I find the bridge PU a tad muddy but will reserve judgement until I spend some more time with it and try it thru a few of my amps.
I ordered trim (PUP rings, pickguard and speed knobs) in cream on the same day and it arrived at the same time. Really dressed up the all black guitar.

The Studio class guitar doesn't offer much in the way of eye candy.
I've always been pulled to some flash in my guitars. For what it is advertised for
It works but not for me.
