Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic 2018 Electric Guitar:

I've always been a Les Paul guy. You can thank my older brother (a far better guitar player than I'll ever be) for that. And as such; over my 25 years of playing ... I've had a TON of LPs; from brand new to super awesome vintage. Custom shop, regular shop, you name it ... I've had it. About the only I HAVEN'T had or played is a '59 burst.

I can unquestionably say this is the best feeling and best sounding Les Paul I've ever had or played.

The neck feels somewhere between a '59 profile and slim-taper 60's profile. It's neither of those but somewhere - and perfectly - in between. Very fast and easy to play.

I'm an unabashed fan of P90s - the reason I chose this model, in fact - and man, do they deliver. I'd honestly planned to swap them out upon arrival for a set of Fralins ... but no need. I play a real simple setup of my Divided By 13 SRT half stack and his Joyride pedal up front for that extra push. They cover everything I want to do from creamy blues (which sounds SO good) to biting Johnny Thunders punk rock.

The weight is good. It has the general heft of an LP - something I really love - but not TOO heavy. I've had some 70's LP Customs. Man, THOSE are heavy.

Fit and finish arrived great. My luthier did have to do some minor tweaks to set it up to my liking but I'm kinda snobby when it comes to that. Not really a big deal. I did quite like the photo in the case candy of it on the bench at Gibson. Very nice touch.

Overall, this is the best money I've spent on a guitar in years. It looks, feels and sounds exactly like I want and, really, what more could I ask for?

    Well done, Gibson.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic 2018 Electric Guitar:

When it comes to MF and Gibson they haven't disappointed me yet and never fail to deliver me a beautiful instrument . When it comes to the guitar and case absolutely stunning. Plays great out of the box. I love the smooth sound of the P90s. This guitar is literally my dream guitar .It has a older style with the P90s but with a modern twist. To sum this up its like Gibson Les Paul standard and custom had a baby ...Yes I named mine Babie.. And Gibson definitely knew what they were doing delivering this guitar on their Les Paul line for 2018 with the middle ground price tag. Very very happy ..

I like everything about this guitar. It even smells good. Very playable. Very resonant. P-90s have a great vintage sound.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic 2018 Electric Guitar:

In short: Have reject more one guitar because of finish issues. Recommend that you all closely inspect your guitar before accepting it because there's a good chance that Gibson messed it up.

In long: I wrote out the check and picked up the in store Les Paul. Played it for about thirty seconds before I couldn't stand the string buzz against frets any more. The store adjusted the bridge. Still buzzed but better. Fine. I can fix that. Spent another 10 minutes playing it and absolutely loving the feel. I started looking closely at the finish. The woodwork was perfect but the guitar was scratched and there were multiple flaws in the finish. Reluctantly, I rejected the guitar and asked if they had another in stock. They did not so I special ordered one. A month later it arrived and I left work early to pick up my new baby. Black guitars do not belong in blonde guitar cases with hot pink interiors. That's just wrong. Then I looked at the guitar. Multiple finish blemishes. Rejected it without actually playing the guitar. Now I'm waiting on the third Les Paul which proves that hope springs eternal. All those stories you hear about how the quality control at Gibson is not doing its job? I can tell you for a fact that it is absolutely true. I recommend that everyone buying a new Les Paul look closely at the finish and reject anything not perfect. If we all do that Gibson will get the hint

Looks great, feels great, smells great and more importantly plays and sounds great. P90's are very articulate. Everything a LP should be and nothing it shouldn't. Arrived near perfect set up (a surprise).
