Comments about Starfire V Hollowbody Archtop Electric Guitar with Guild Vibrato Tailpiece:

I own 2 Guild Starfire V's from the late 90's that were made in New England. Two of my favorite guitars and was not happy when Guild/Fender discontinued them. I saw that they had been re-issued but was skeptical because they made in Korea and they had gone with more of a late 60's - 70's styling. The body is thinner than the other Guilds I have had and the bridges are different. The other major differance is the pick-ups, they're more of a mini-humbucker style but not quite as small as a Les Paul Deluxe. Was still intrigued so I ordered one. Used it on a gig this past weekend. The guys in the band commented that it is a nice looking guitar and it is with the red finish on the mahogany wood, the other reason I ordered it, I like mahogany bodied guitars. The guitar played very well and was surprised at the tone. Kind of somewhere between a single coil and a humbucker. Not as fat sounding as a traditional humbucker, but the warmth is there, but has a bit of a "snap" to it like a single coil. I play blues, classic rock, jazz, R&B and reggae with the band and it fit in well on all catagories. Electronics are smooth. My only compaint is the Guild "Bigsby" is a bit clumsy and not very useful. I have 3 other guitars with Bigsby's and this one is not very responsive. May either replace it with a real one or put a different tailpiece on it. So other than the tailpiece it's an excellent guitar.

Comments about Starfire V Hollowbody Archtop Electric Guitar with Guild Vibrato Tailpiece:

I was a little concerned that It would look like a fire engine but it is a darker red with dark grain and it is beautiful. I have never purchased a guitar before without playing it first so I took the chance because I have owned a Starfire before and regretted giving it away. When it comes to guitars I'm picky.

Comments about Starfire V Hollowbody Archtop Electric Guitar with Guild Vibrato Tailpiece:

I play in a band that plays once or twice a month, sometimes more. Have wanted a Guild Starfire V for a long time but could not afford the older ones out there for sale. When I read about the new Guilds I had to check them out. Hard to find a Starfire V around here but was able to check out some other Guilds. They all played very well. Took a chance on ordering one. Beautiful guitar, finish, sound and feel, superb. Could not be happier. Really nice case also. Looks great with my other two Guilds.

Comments about Starfire V Hollowbody Archtop Electric Guitar with Guild Vibrato Tailpiece:

I bought it without trying it thinking, " Well is just a korean made official replica, let's see how it turn". But then I recieved, first I look a really quality and cool case. After that, I start to realize that it has a really good craft work, with really good details and finish. Finally, I play it. Really confortable, fun and quality sound.
I'm very happy with it, looking foward to step into a gig with it.
