(Open Box) A premium alder body, ultra-comfortable neck and high-performance pickups.

The Mitchell TD400 electric guitar features a traditional double cutaway design with premium alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. A versatile pickup configuration includes one humbucker and two single-coil paraffin-dipped alnico V pickups that guard against microphonics and unwanted feedback. The slim-taper neck profile will feel instantly comfortable in any player’s hands. The TD400 also features staggered-height tuners, which keep tension on the nut without the use of string trees, while the locking tuners provide great tuning stability. The ultra-carve heel joint allows access to the upper frets with ease. Add to these a pull-pot coil-tap, providing great single-coil sounds from the bridge-position humbucker, and a Wilkinson VS50-II tremolo with locking saddles, and you’ve got a great sounding, modern take on tradition.

All Mitchell electric guitars receive a complete stateside setup and quality control inspection to ensure exceptional playability. Available in Black (BK) or Sunburst (SB). Case sold separately.

Comments about Mitchell TD400 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

Just so people know, I've been playing for 35 years and have owned and played a lot guitars.

I played two of these in my local Guitar Center and I liked them. I liked the neck, the Wilkinson bridge, and the pickups sounded alright. The main issue I noticed on both guitars was very rough fret edges on all of the frets. Thinking this issue may have been isolated to the floor models I tried out I decided to order one from MF. I didn't want the ones in GC because of the issue I just mentioned. Also because from my experience GC has a habit of sending you a floor model even when you ask to have a new one shipped to your house straight from their warehouse. They'll just pull one from another store and ship it to you.

Anyway, I received a new one from MF and I have to say the fretwork was pretty bad. As in multiple frets weren't level or even crowned. It looked as though somebody tried to level some frets and filed them down then skipped the crowning process and just polished them. I noticed very obvious flat spots on several frets. I'm handy with fretwork but I didn't have the time or motivation to get involved with trying to fix them so I sent it back for another one. I received the second one and it had the same issue with the frets but this time with the added bonus of having a broken D string saddle screw, the threaded end was sheared off and stuck in the hole. I packed it up and sent it back for a refund. I bought it when it was on sale. The guitar is definitely not worth the full asking price. Go get a Classic Vibe or a MIM Strat. Oh, and I know somebody will post a review after me saying they've been playing for 90 years and own 400 guitars and the TD400 is one of the best guitars they've ever played. Yeah, o.k..

Good neck, good bridge, decent pickups, horrible finish work and QC.

Comments about Mitchell TD400 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I am very impressed by all facets of this guitar including the price. Excellent feel to the neck and fingerboard along with very useful tones out of the pickups. Very solidly built and she stays in tune. You really can't ask for more out of a guitar as I've owned and played hundreds over the last 40 years and this one' s as good as any including the big names. Just an overall great deal.

Comments about Mitchell TD400 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

This is a nice guitar and mine was for half the price, but I wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd paid regular price for it. The closest axe I have next to it is a 2005 Mexican strat. The Fender has an unmistakeable classic strat sound, but the Mitchell still has a decent single coil tone. What I liked about the Mitchell was the ultra-carve heel joint. It may be subjective, but the Mitchell excels in playability.
