Stage ready, fun to play, and a great value!

The guitars that make up the Seagull Coastline series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the Coastline series models are made from a three-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple.

The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

Comments about Seagull Coastline Series S6 Dreadnought QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got my Seagull Coastline a year ago January 2010 and wanted to write a review for awhile after taking lessons for a year, but not a few months after. I'm 53 years old and I played the guitar and (drums in high school) when I was really young kid and remembered my basic chords also wanted to get back into playing the guitar for a few years.Since I was beginner for playing I did my research online and going to GC (great store) and other music stores and played a Martin, Taylor, Yahama and Takamine and a Seagull.I was looking for a great sound but not too expensive for my wallet either. After trying out a few guitars, within a few months I settle for a Seagull Coastling S6 Q1 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric. It really has a nice balance full bright sound from lows to highs. the construction of the guitar is really well made and solid. With a cedar top, it produces a reverb sound. On other reviews I have seen regarding the action being too high, which is true, but if you have the skills to setup your own guitar to your own specs to play this instrument comfortably, that is the only advantage for any musician. After being setup and lowering the action and putting on Martin Acoustic SP (10-47) and replacing them with Elixir Nanoweb strings. What a difference in playing and excellent quality sound. If your really looking for a beginner guitar, try any Seagull, less expensive and really great well made guitar.

Nice guitar for the money

Comments about Seagull Coastline Series S6 Dreadnought QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just bought this as a backup dreadnaught and it is a very clean well playing guitar. Sound is good. The action was a tad higher than I like it when it arrived but I modded the bridge when I changed strings and it is much nicer now. The neck is slim which is very unlike the Martins and Taylor I usually play, This has taken a little time to get used to, but I am sure some people might actually prefer this neck. Would be nice if it came with a second strap button. Do people really still tie strings around the headstock? The neck is a little shorter than a standard dread so finding the right case (it doesn't come with one) might take a little time. Having the battery accessible without loosening the strings is a great feature, and the built in tuner is great. All around great guitar for the $$$.
